It was following me again.
This bright round light in the sky.
Sitting in the car as we drove,
I didn't bother to ask why.
It seemed a bit filthy by the looks of it.
Those patches of gray.
Accompanied by little twinkling lights.
Following it along the way.
Later I knew,
Those grey patches are craters.
The twinkling lights were stars,
That were millions of light years away.
As I looked out of the car.
I remember those nights
Playing hide and seek,
In the cover of moonlight.
Until it was time for bed.
A kiss goodnight.
It stayed the same as I grew up.
Looking up in the night sky.
Tears suddenly filled up my eyes.
The great expansion of the universe,
It was limitless.
It'll still be here once I pass.
Shining up in the sky,
Those twinkling lights.
I was as fragile as glass.
I now knew, my ultimate boon,
That I was the one following the moon.

Another poem about the moon! (Horra!) This one talks more about my childhood where I thought --in my little innocent child brain-- that the moon was following me. It kinda transitioned into a like thinking about my existence kinda poem... yeah.
