Lukes P.O.V

Me and kenz were sitting watching a movie like we always do on Fridays. We have been best friends sense 3rd grade so this wasn't anything out of the ordinary.

"Hey Kenz I think we forgot somthing!"

"What" she said looking confused

And three two one

"Omg we forgot the kettle corn!"she said realizing what I meant.

Every time we watch a movie together, we always get kettle corn from K.K's Kettle corn shop. it was like tradition for me and kenz so forgetting about it was actually really bad!

"How could we forget the damn kettle corn Luke!" She said slapping me on the arm. Damn that hurt, that girl has some strength!

"Well I usually grab it on my way home from school but we didn't have school today so I forgot to grab it on my way over! Sorry."

"Ugg I can't watch a movie without my kettle corn!" she said lying back on the couch in defeat.

"Can you please go get some?" she said putting her puppy dog eyes on.

"Oh no, you know puppy dog eyes don't work on me so don't even try!"

"Pretty pretty pretty please!"

"No"

Suddenly I was being tackled! she was pinching my nipples!

"Owww, don't purple my nurple!"

God I hate when she does that it hurts so much! when I finally got the strength to pull my self upright, I accidentally pulled kenz onto my lap. we were face to face! I felt her warm breath on my mouth! I just stared into her eyes. wow have they always been that beautiful. I felt the urge to kiss her as I looked at her plump pink lips. wait what am I thinking! this is my best friend were talking about! I don't like her! we wernt supposed to have feelings for each other! well she probably doesn't have feelings for me but still I can't have feelings for her! I don't have feelings for her! wait do I? NO NO NO I don't we are just friends!!! Don't get any ideas Luke!

She sat upright and quickly got of my lap. "um well that was awkward."

"Ya tell me about it, and guess what makes it even worse!" she said rolling her eyes.

"I still don't have my kettle corn!!!"

"Ugg damn girl your bossy!"

"I'll get your gosh darn kettle corn!" I said getting of the couch to go get my coat.

"Regular or special?". I said turning to head out the door.

"REGULAR!" she yelled as I walked to my car to drive of to k.k's. I really don't mind going to get the corn, the shop is only a couple streets down from her place.

Present day

Mackenzie's P.OV

I woke up to the annoying sound of my alarm on my phone. As I got ready for school I realized I didn't have school today! It's freakin holiday break what the hell am I doing up at frigin 6 in the morning. Ugg now I can't go back to sleep! I decided just to go down to the kitchen and make some breakfast for my dad. My brother is in college some 1000 miles away from us. And my mom passed away when I was only 5 so I don't remember much of her. Everyone says that we look exactly alike. looking at some of the photos on the walls, I personally don't think I do. It is only me and my dad in this huge house my mom built with my dad a couple months before I was born. When my grandfather died, my mom enhareted a great amount of money. like some 2 million worth. So they decided to build a massive house. I loved it! Every time I walk in to my house, I feel like I still have a piece of my mother with me.

It was about 8:30 when my dad finally came down to see me handing him a tray of muffins, scrambled eggs, French toast, and orange juice all neatly arranged on the tray. I praised myself in my thoughts for how wonderful it looked.

"Kenz did you do all of this by yourself!?!?"

"Well ya dad who else would get up this early to help me?" I knew exactly who would but dad already knows.

He sat on one side of the table and I sat on the opposite side just waiting for him to taste it. As he took the first bite I stared at him continually as he kept eating. out of nowhere he broke the silence between us.

"This is great kenz, where did you learn to cook like this?"

"I just looked in moms old recipe books." Suddenly he stopped eating and looked up at me. For a second I can almost see the hurt in his eyes. then he quickly looked back down at his plate and began eating again.

"Your mother was an amazing cook. you probably take after her kenz."

"I know dad." I said with a genuine smile.

Tonight Luke is coming over so I decided to get out of my pajamas (which I have been wearing all day) and put on a cute dress. I know I don't have to dress to impress but ehh what the hell It doesn't hurt to look beautiful. Luke might say something! I've always had a secret crush on Luke ever since I was little. of course that was like "i have a crush on you, but ewww cooties!"

I took a shower and did my hair, as I was slipping my dress on, the door suddenly flew open to revile Luke!!

"Ahhhh get out!!" I said leaping over onto my bed and pulling the sheets over my half naked body.

"Oh common I was enjoying the view!" he said winking at me

"Get out you perv!" I said throwing a pillow at him.

"Fine I'll go!"

Once he left the room I ran over to the door quickly locking it so he won't barge in again. I slipped on my dress and did some minor touch ups to my makeup. ok I'm finished I said mentally as I checked myself out in the mirror.

When I got down stairs, Luke was sprawled out across my couch. "What a lazy bum" I mentally laughed at my comment, almost snickering.

"You got the kettle corn?"

"Yep" he said reveling a giant bag of my favorite treat.

We both sat on the couch watching the movie. I was all snuggled up next to him, enjoying the warmth that his arm gave me.

His phone suddenly lit up. as he read the text message, a grin came to his face.

"Stop the movie! were going to a party!"
