"Get back lil bitch"
Eli said nonchalantly pushing April aside as she tried to block him from the door.

"Elijah if you walk out on me I swear to god

"Elijah if you walk out on me I swear to god .."
She paused.
Eli turned in his tracks and looked down at her.
"You swear to God what?"
He asked with a bit of aggression in his voice.
She stared up at him with clinched jaws and a flared nose.
"That's what the fuck I thought"
April slapped him and his face titled to the left.
He turned back towards her and grabbed her by her forearms. He lifted her from the ground and she wrapped her legs around his torso. She tugged at his hair as he carried her to the couch. He tried to remove her legs from his waist and toss her on the couch but she wouldn't budge. She continued to tug at his hair and he groaned in pain. He tried to push her away once more but she wouldn't unlock her legs from around him. So he gripped the end of her hair in his fist and yanked her head backward.
"Let go!"
She yelped.
"Let me go first April"
He responded.
She loosened her grip on his hair and he did the same on her's. She unlocked her legs and he gently tossed her on the couch. She plopped down and rolled over on her side. You could hear her light cries while she buried her head in a pillow.
"April?"
Eli called, gently, as he crouched down beside her.
Her face was buried in the pillow of the couch and her back was turned towards him.
"April?"
He repeated.
Her cries got louder and more intense. You could now hear her gasp between sobs. She began to pant causing Eli to lay his hand on her side. He moved in towards her neck and laid his head in the crease of it.
"I love you"
He whispered.
Her sobs were calming down and she shifted her body to face him.
"I love you too Elijah"
She sniffled.
She grabbed his face and they stared each other in the eyes for a minute.
Complete silence filled the living room.
"Don't ever leave me"
She continued.
He didn't respond, he just kissed her lips and crawled over on top of her. He laid his head on her chest and wrapped himself in her legs. She ran her fingers through his curls and rubbed her hand across his chin. Eli didn't honestly love her, but he wanted to. She was the first person he'd ever known how to love and it broke his heart that not only has he lost that knowledge to love another, but deep down he knows that he's even lost it, when he looks in her eyes, to love her too. He knows she can sense it but he buries it with things she'd rather hear. It's easier for him to feed those lies to her because he doesn't mean it than it is for him to be honest with her and have to face his pain. When he's in her arms he is at peace, with her, with life, with the world around him as long as she isn't speaking because when he has to acknowledge that she is the girl he was supposed to love forever he runs away. He's broken but that's not the icing on the cake.

"Do you even love me?"
Paris asked looking over at T.
