Chapter Eight: A Spark

"(Y/n)—you know by now, that I won't let anyone else lay a finger on you." His voice was low and raspy as he spoke those words, causing you to swallow the lump that had built up in your throat. He had lowered himself down, more towards your level and you suddenly began to feel his breath on your neck. Loose strands of his hair fell onto the bare skin near your shoulder, tickling you and making you fidget.

"As long as I'm here, nothing will harm you." He whispered into your ear and you shivered. You had never experienced something like this. It was weird and odd, but intoxicating.

"Mhm-" You tried to say something, to protest, but only a muffled noise escaped from your person. Lotor chuckled then backed away slightly to get a good look at your face. Flushed and red, the perfect shade of crimson. That's a way someone could describe how you looked.

"C'mon, it'll be quick." You looked away for a second, still unsure if you should go. But, decided on going. You nodded, showing him that you were now okay with the idea and he smiled. He grabbed ahold of both your hands, gave them a squeeze, then started to lead you to what ever he wanted to show you.

"What do you want to show me exactly?" You asked curiously, wondering if he would actually tell.

"If I told you, then there would be no need for you to come." Obviously, that was the answer. You rolled your eyes and continued to follow him down the streets. It had been a while since you began walking away from home. Now you were in a part of town you didn't recognize. Of course, your anxiousness began building up inside you again. To be careful, your eyes scanned over all your surroundings, just so you could be sure of what's around you. Lotor noticed you doing so, he rolled his eyes playfully with a smile then pulled you closer. You had yelped quietly when he did, and looked up at him with a tinted face and gentle sparkle in your eye. He only chuckled at you, then placed his attention back onto the sidewalk you two were walking along. For the rest of your walk, before you had arrived to your destination, it was quiet between the two of you. But it didn't feel awkward or uncomfortable. It was a comforting silence between you two. It was relaxing and in a way, tranquil.

"We're here." You heard Lotor say, and you looked up from your feet. It was a shack. Your only guess as to why this place was relevant to him was because it was probably his home. Since you knew he didn't have the most stable relationship with his parents. But then it got you thinking—things between him and his parents must be really, really bad if he is here living all by himself.

"This is where you live. . .right?" You asked cautiously as to not alarm him. You knew that it wouldn't, but just saying that in retrospect made it sound weird.

He looked down at you and nodded, confirming your suspicions then allowed you inside. It was quite cozy, actually. Just enough for a person to get by, but at the same time it had this indescribable feeling to it. It was all one story, a small living room and kitchen, easily connected to one another. A bathroom and a bedroom. The essentials. Of course, inside it wasn't all basic. There were nice, purple string lights hanging from the ceiling in the living room, and other things that told you, "this is where Lotor stays".

"It's nice, but this is what you wanted to show me? Why?" You questioned. Honestly, you didn't know what would incline him to do something like this.

"Well, there's more to it." Lotor said then grabbed onto your hand. You blushed, bashfully. . .and guiltily. He has led you to the back. With Arus having plenty of tall hills, Lotor's little place just so happened to sit on top of one. When he opened up the door leading to the back your mouth went agape. Forest trees surrounded you for the most part, the night sky was dark and full of mystery, as always, which perfectly contrasted the bright lights of the city just beyond you.
