(The police arrived and they were all rushed to the hospital. Akio and Ayuko were seperated, Hiro went with Ayuko for as long as he could before she would have to go into surgery.)

---------Ayuko is in the hospital--------

Ayuko: (coughs) (a tear streams down her face) Is it safe to say I know your pain... and I'm sorry for being such a brat in middle school...

Hiro: What did he hit you with?

Ayuko: A bat... A belt, a hammer, a vase, a brick and some other things that I lost memory of... (goes silent)

Hiro: What about the second degree burns on your side?

Ayuko: F-fire...

Hiro: He burned you?

Ayuko: He...he whipped Me and then he lit it on fire...(cries)

Hiro: Ayuko, I'm sorry you had to go through this bullshit and I'm sorry for assuming Sora would be like Mino...

Ayuko: What do you mean?

Hiro: Mino doesn't show any emotion, he doesn't even speak... he's pushy even though he tries not to be, I don't know Sora like that, but... I lost my train of thought

Ayuko: you weren't wrong about him being like his dad... I mean from the stories, he doesn't seem as bad, but he knows the stories you told me... and speaking...of stories I took the pill

Hiro: the fix it all

Ayuko: Yeah Sora gave it to me

Hiro: I told Mino stories, who knows maybe Sora overheard him repeat them...

Ayuko: Do you miss Hiroki?

Doctor: (Doctor walks in the room.) Alright sir, she'll be brought into surgery to fix the bones in her legs, back, stomach, and arms Ayuko, you're a strong girl, breaking or having a couple bones broken especially the bone in your thigh that may just be one of the most painful bones to break.

Ayuko: Well, I can't really feel much. (She laughs painfully as the pull the stretcher along.)

Hiro: I'll be back in the morning

Ayuko: I love you

Hiro: I love you too honey (walks out the room)

(He walks out the room to see Sky, Sora, Xiexie and Yu running up to him)

Sky: We heard the news, are you ok?

Sora: I DON'T CARE IF HES OK, HOW IS AYUKO!

Sky: Sora! Calm down and keep your voice down you are in a hospital

Xiexie: IM WITH SORA, HOW IS AYUKO?!?!?

Yu: YEAH HOW IS SHE?!?!?

Sky: Guys! (Gives them a death stare which calms them down) Now, is Ayuko ok?

Hiro: I'm ok, thanks for asking and Ayuko...she...

Sora: (Walks up to Hiro and pulls his collar forward to him making Hiro let out a monotone yell) If she's dead...you're next

Hiro: I had nothing to do with what my brother did, frankly I didn't know he was my brother for most of my life, but is that a threat?

Sora: That's a promise. (he says and lets go of his collar)

Hiro: (Hiro laughs painfully) Calm down kid, she went into surgery again, Akio beat her up pretty bad.

Sora: Is SHE going to BE OKAY?

Hiro: I hope she will be

Sora: That's not an answer!

Sky: Calm down...

Hiro: It's the only one I have, but- nevermind

Sky: Wait, what is it?

Hiro: Nothing too important

Sky: Are you sure?

Hiro: Well...(He pauses) Sora... she did it (He smiles with half his face and his hand twitches along his shoulder.)

Sky: Who did what?

Sora: Ayuko?

Hiro: Yeah... Ayuko told me to tell you, she did it...

Sora: Uh, what is "it" exactly

Hiro: I was hoping you'd know (He laughed and began walking away)

Sky: Sora... what happened?

Sora: Well, I don't really know myself

Sky: Honey, you're bad at lying

Hiro: [Internal THoughts: I wonder what that kid knows- should I turn around? I could walk back, say something, and maybe change something...] (He turned around and walked back over to Sora) Do you want to talk about what exactly it was in front of your mother or what do you want to happen?

Sora: What are you talking about?

Hiro: She took the pill Mi...Sora. Shit, sorry.

Sora: She did?

Hiro: Yeah... wanna tell me what the fuck my daughter took or am I going to have to guess?

Sora: The story...

Hiro: What story?

Sora: The story about the man who found the cure for cancer

Hiro: (His expression softened) Did Mino tell you that?

Sora: Yeah, I'm sorry, It's just you didn't work out and I want my dad back more than anything.

Hiro: What the hell do you mean by that?

Sky: Sorry Hiro, he's just upset

Sora: So, you'll admit that he's Hiro now?

Sky: Uhm

Hiro: What?

Sora: Izaya's dead because of what he did to YOU! All the stories, all the pictures, and torn t-shirts, all from you.

Hiro: I don't know what to say...

Sora: I'm sorry, but the clock reset (he smiles viciously before He ran off)

Sky: SORA! (She ran after him)

Hiro: (He waited a minute before heading out of the hospital.) [Internal THoughts: The clock...]
