Glimmer began with the book The Book of the Dragon by Ciruelo Cabral and a Dungeons and Dragons Dragon Species poster that displayed 10 dragon species sorted by color. Works such as THe Magic Tree House series by Mary ope Osborne and Chris de'Lacey's series The Last Dragon Chronicles also influenced the creation of Glimmer in the very beginning stages of the project.
Developing the fantasy constructive language Drakovian would be the next portion of the project and this would take many high school years before the surface of conlang was even scratched. The progress of the language would suffer greatly and large portions of it would be lost forever, forcing Liam to start from scratch all over again.
After personal life struggles weaseled their way into Liam's life The GLIMMER Project too would suffer greatly after making so much progress. Eons Away would later join the project in an effort to improve its fragmented state and to help bind together the world with new and rich lore
