I lay my new mat on my carpet in my room. I tried to do a forward roll, which I did, but I rolled to the left and banged into my desk. "Ow" I yelp as I grasp my leg. My dad rushes to my room, and comes down to my level. "Are you ok?" He asks. "Yea dad I'm
Fine, I grumble". My dad smiles at me and touches my nose and says "boop" I look at him like he's nuts. I go to my desk and open my laptop, still rubbing my leg. It comes on, and I find 10 messages from Noah. This is what my screen looks like:
Noah: hey I'm sorry I left so suddenly the other day
Noah: my mom was yelling at me to take the trash out
Noah: btw my little sister might have come into the room
Noah: her name is Courtney
Noah: and I have a brother that's 9
Noah: do you have any siblings?
Noah: I'm sorry haha I sound so desperate for you to answer me
Noah: on the other hand, why will you die if you go outside?
Noah: maybe I can come over sometime and we can hang out
Noah: I'm realizing I'm talking to myself so I'm gonna go
"Wow okay I sigh" I text him back, reluctantly. " it's okay, I had a little brother who passed away in a car accident when I was five, yes it would be cool if we get together."

He didn't respond for 2 days.

I spent the last two days on my phone looking up gymnastics tutorials, I already got my handstand and my forward roll, and now I'm working on my split. My little brother was really flexible. He could do a split at six years old and didn't even do gymnastics! Anyway, I'm watching a gymnastics video and stretching out my legs when I get a text from Noah. Finally. I look at the text, blinking and open the message. "I was on a school trip." It read "Clearly this guy has no interest in me whatsoever" I think to myself glumly. I decide to go to my "outside room" to do my gymnastics. My dad agrees to help me, which I am very glad about because he rarely spends time with me. My outside room is a room that has clear walls, so I can see what it looks like outside, plus their is an air freshener plugged into the wall that smells like spring weather. My dad helps me to do a backbend kick-over and after a few tries, I get my backbend. I never knew I was so good at gymnastics. My dad leaves me to try on my own, and goes to get a glass of water. I start practicing, and after a few tries, I look up to the window and sees Noah. Again. He's waving at me and he says faintly, "can I come in?" I respond with "yea". Seconds later the doorbell is rung. Maybe this could be my chance to actually get to know him.
