[S/n] - Sister Name

---

A Wayne Gala, not quite your scene but your parents made you go. The sleeveless dress you were forced to wear only increases the chill that always runs up and down your arms.

You'd rather be curled up in your bed, watching your favorite movie right now. But alas you were stuck here. Sitting at a table watching as your parents chatted amongst the high society members and your sister was off probably dancing with some millionaire's son.

Letting out a sigh as your hand rested in your chin. Watching the top dollar dresses and suits pass by you. Not sparing you a single glance. The boredom leading you to get distracted by the sound of your own fingers drumming on the table. Humming an irrelevant tune to yourself.

Not drawn from your trance until you hear someone clear their voice. Noticing a figure in front of you, eyes tracing up to the gentleman's eyes. Being greeted by stunning blue hues. Recognizing the figure as none other than the host's son, Dick Grayson.

"Uhh, Hi" You greeted feeling a bit sheepish by your withdrawn state a few moments prior. "Hi, this seat taken?" He smiled gesturing toward a seat next to you. "Uh, nope she's all yours"

"Why thank you" he beamed at you before taking a seat. You couldn't help but chuckle. "What's funny?" curiosity radiated off of his expression. "It's nothing" still silently chuckling.

He smiled before extending a hand, "Dick Grayson"

Hesitantly taking it you replied "[F/n] [L/n]" noticing his grip tightening on your hand. "Well Miss [L/n] you've got quite the cold hands" he joked. "[F/n]'s fine and yeah they're always like that" removing you hand from his grasp.

"Sorry I didn't mean to make you uncomfortable" Immediately apologizing after realizing your haste. You simply waved it off saying "Don't sweat it"

"So what's got you looking so glum?" he leaned back in his seat. "Not really my scene" gesturing around the area. "I just can't really dance or anything so I end up just sitting here" you shrugged nonchalantly.

"Well that puts a damper on my soon to be an attempt to ask you to dance" he nervously scratched the back of his neck. "But if you would like to dance I could teach you" offering you a hand.

"So [F/n] would you like to dance with a stranger?" he beamed a beautiful smile that sent butterflies to your stomach. Hesitantly you took his hand and he pulled you to your feet. Damn he's strong.

Leading you to the center of the room. "Okay so you put your hand here" he put your left hand on his shoulder. "Then I take your other hand" locking your hand with his. "And finally my hand goes here" he respectfully put his hand on your lower back, though it didn't stop the blush from spreading to your cheeks.

You could've sworn you saw his eyes light up as your flushed cheeks. He began to slowly take the lead, taking the time for you to get a hang of it. Which you surprisingly did rather quickly.

Being in this close proximity got the both of you to talking, you learned of his brothers and how he used to be an acrobat. "That's really amazing" after hearing about how his family was a trio.

"Yeah it was amazing to be a part of it. They were fantastic parents. But enough about me, how about you?" He asked before twirling you and pulling you back into his chest.

"Not much, my parents are Mr. and Mrs. [L/n]. Investors in Wayne Enterprises and owners of a chain restaurant. Nothing really cool or odd here except for my constant ice cold hands which I apologize for." You chuckled, feeling his hand grip yours a bit tighter.

"Don't apologize, I like how they feel. It reminds me of that saying or myth that people with cold hands have warm hearts and are the kindest and most caring of people"

His words making you blush again. "You Dick Grayson know how to flatter a woman" diverting your eyes from his. He chuckled, "It's part of my charm" which made you roll your eyes and laugh.

Not too much later the song ended and when you went to find your family you were stopped by a hand on your wrist. "Where are you going?" turning to see the hand indeed belonged to Dick. "Going to find my family" gesturing to the crowd of people.

"Well let me come with you, I like talking to you, and listening to you, and looking at you"

You blushed as a bashful smile graced your face and you diverted your eyes from his. "Uhh-haha, sure" a giggle escaping your throat.

The both of you searched the crowd until you spotted your sister, "Oh there she is" you said before pulling Dick along with. "Hey si-" she began to greet but freezed upon seeing Dick.

"Hello?" waving a hand in front of her face, of which she hit away. "Cut it and introduce me to your friend" she smirked.

"Oh sorry, [S/n] this is Dick Grayson. Dick this is my little sister [S/n] [L/n]."

"A pleasure to meet you" she extended her hand which he took. "Nice to meet you" answering before looking at you again and smiling. Your sister taking notice and sending a smirk your way. "So, Dick. How'd you end up stuck with this loser?" she gestured to you.

You both chuckled, "I saved her from boredom and endless finger drumming"

"Ahh, I see. Well I'll leave you two to do whatever you two do but Mom and Dad said we're leaving soon." she went to leave, not before sending you an approving smile.

"Well then, what now?" he looked over to you. "Uh, how about some fresh air? I can't take this stuffy ball room any longer" smiling at him.

He then took your hand and escorted you to the balcony that overlooked the back garden. "Beautiful" commenting upon seeing the clear night sky.

"Yeah" he stared at the sky as well but took glances at you. Holding back a cheesy line that he wanted to say so badly.

"I really have enjoyed spending tonight with you [F/n]" causing you to look over at him. "It's been a long time since I've had fun at one of these things"

You smiled, "But don't you have women throwing themselves at you left and right. That has to be fun" tucking a piece of hair behind your ear.

He shrugged, "Yeah I guess, but they only look at me for being Bruce's son or my looks. Never for me, never to listen to me. That's why I had such an amazing night with you. You listened and held an intelligent conversation. Wanted to genuinely know about me and genuinely told me about yourself. It was.. real."

You were shocked at the statement, not realizing you had such a big impact. He noticed, "Sorry that got a bit.. longer than I intended" he chuckled before leaning against the railing on his arms, hands together.

With a soft smile you walked over to him and slid your hand to replace one of his. Intertwining your fingers before meeting his eyes, "I'm glad I was good company."

"Would you like to get lunch or coffee tomorrow?" he eagerly asked, not quite meaning for it to come out so desperate sounding. You only smiled wider, "I'd love too"

"Cool, cool. I'll uh. I'll call you" he felt butterflies in his stomach flutter about. "Give me your phone" you held out your other hand. He looked confused but complied. Tapping a few times before handing it back, "You might need that first" chuckling. He looked to see a series of digits under your name.

"Right, yeah. I'm looking forward to it" he smiled.

You glanced back toward the doors, seeing your sister gesturing it was time to go. Nodding you turned back to Dick.

"I have to go but" stopping your sentence by placing a kiss on his cheek, "I can't wait for tomorrow" before gliding away. Leaving a stunned man behind you.

Meeting up with your sister, her smirking at you. "Smooth"

"I have my moments" Smiling and thinking about what will come the following day.
