My whole life had been the epitome of normalcy

My whole life had been the epitome of normalcy. I was raised right, parents were always around (apart from when my mom left when I was seven) and I'd never done drugs, smoked or drank. So you can imagine my surprise when I got home from school one early summers afternoon and realised my whole life had changed.

(And no, this is not a one direction fan fiction where I am taken to be their sex slave- this is a whole lot worse)

Let me take you back to the beginning.

"Jessica wait up!" I called, my hands clenching my blue tartan skirt in fear that it would blow up and my whole bum would be out for show. My friend laughed and ran ahead of me as I inwardly damned the god awful school uniform I was wearing.

Jess turned around, her eyes sparkling with intuition "It's the new sexy English boys first day today and I want to see him. Apparently he's smoking hot!"

"We have different levels of hotness Jess remember, what you find attractive isn't always what I find attractive."

I miss Jess.

"He's universally hot Cassandra," Jess scolded me as she turned around, a scowl wrapped its way around my face as I glared into her blue eyes.

"Don't call me that," I hissed forever hating my birth name.

"Cassandra, Cassandra, Cassandra," Jess sang as we finally neared the front office of the school. I went to some uptight private school basically so my father would only need to see me twice a week for dinner on the weekends.

"Jessica, Jessica, Jessica," I sang back laughing when she glared at me this time around. We stood outside the front office for several minutes before one of us (me) had the balls to knock on the door. With her hand firmly in mine I knocked, thrice.

The door swung open and standing there was the most gorgeous hot handsome- sorry I just vomited a little in my mouth.

A boy, with dark hair and tanned skin stood there but in my fourteen year old boy obsessed mind he was an Adonis. He looked down at me and Jess who were frozen like statues staring up at this boy, he was clad in our schools uniform and had a viscous scowl on his face.

It took all of three seconds for him to slam the door in our faces. Now, if I wasn't preoccupied staring into his brown eyes then I would've noticed a lot more.

1) The fact that he looked at me slightly more than Jess

2) The way that the teachers were looking at him in fear

3) The noticeable bulge in his pants (and not because he was happy to see me) but a gun, a 34 Caliber gun.

The same gun that three weeks later caused death and destruction to hit my life. And this was only the beginning.

Two weeks later I discovered his name was Tyler Matthews, a disciplinary student who was sent to our school from juvenile detention. The girls loved it.

There was something about a bad boy with a gun that had all the girls orgasming.

Personally, I didn't care, I thought the guy was a dick after slamming the door in my face and we never crossed paths again because he was two years older than me. Which meant I was totally and completely out of his league.

School continued like normal and it was only when I was preparing to come home where disaster struck me because as you'll soon find out, I'm a lightning rod for disaster.

Simply because on Tuesday 8th of June, a shooter came to school.
