Chapter: 12

Miyuki pov
Shinwu seemed to loom over me in an intimidating way. I look down at my lap as I let out a small sigh, but before I could utter out a single word, a growl was heard instead. Everyone looked at me as I held my head down embarrassed, Frankstein cleared his throat "we'll continue this conversation another time. For now, Miyuki needs to eat so she can recover." I looked down at my stomach 'but I just ate not too long ago...argh!' I winced as my stomach growled yet again though the hungry sensation much more unbearable. We all headed down the stairs as my stomach continued to make growls and snarls "wow, you must be hungry Miyuki." Yuna commented as I avoided eye contact with everyone 'I'm..so..hungry' I thought with a slight vacant look in my eyes.

I could feel drool fall from the corner of my mouth as I eyed the steak Frankstein had prepared with mash potatoes, and a fruit salad as side dishes. He also brought out some coffee pudding, though my attention was only on the steaming steak in front of me. I wanted to devour it but my Grandpa's scolding could be heard from the back of my mind so I refrained from tearing into the thing like a starved animal would have done. I used the utensils provided to cut small proportions and ate it calmly, I was done after a few minutes when truth be told I would devour it in half a minute. I wiped my mouth with a napkin and picked up my plate "that's alright Miyuki, I can clean the dishes." Frankstein said but I did not give in "I want to help." I stated quietly but firmly "but its not necessary...;;;" Frankstein sweat drop as I pouted at him "okay, you can dry them. but nothing more alright?" he said giving in with a small sign and smile "Hai." I said saluting him with a giggling Yuna and Ikhan behind me. I followed him into the kitchen and did as I was told.

-After washing the dishes-

I was sitting on the couch leaning on the arm rest while staring out into space totally zoned out. I hadn't have a clue on what was going on even as Shinwu shook my should making me blink twice before looking at him "well?" he asked as everyone watched me expecting something "Hm?" I questioned as Shinwu sighed "Miyuki, you have to tell us 3 things. first, tell us what happened earlier." I made a small 'O' shape with my mouth and looked down briefly before looking back up at Frankstein who sat next to Rai calmly. I explained briefly what had happen up to the point where I was knocked out "so what happened next?" Ikhan asked curiously as I furrowed my brows together concentrating on remembering "I'm not sure, I can't remember anything else but sensei carrying me." No one pushed the subject further but a new one emerged "where were you during all this time?" Shinwu asked softly as I remembered the cold and hungry nights I spent on the streets "...the alleys." was all I said and wrapped my arms around myself feeling a chill run down my spine. Shinwu unexpectedly pulled me into a hug, I didn't know how to react at first but I slowly returned the warm and welcoming hug "I'm sorry" he mumbled against my shoulder "its not your fault" I said closing my eyes as he held on tighter "I won't ever leave you like this again" he swore pulling back to look at me "...Promise?" I asked holding up my pinky "Promise." he chuckled and wrapped his around mine sealing the promise between us.
