**Very graphic and somewhat gory things ahead**

"Hi, um I'm Malia Seniar and I'm here to see Mikey Seniar?" The young girl with gorgeous black hair said to the lady behind the counter. She, like everyone else, was here to see her brother Mikey. He had been bit by a older man who looked to have rabies. They rushed Mikey over so they could have him checked and treated for rabies, but they had gotten no feed back from any of the doctors for five hours.

"Yes ma'am, he is in room 423, just take this hallway all the way down to the elevators then make a left and you'll be there." The lady behind the counter smiled as she finished her sentence, her smile lines were droopy and her skin was saggy, she clearly wasn't the youngest lady in the world. When Mikey was rushed in, the lady was on her lunch break, eating her favorite fruits. Mikey seemed quite young but also quite slow in the head, she clearly didn't want to say that to any of them.

As Malia walked quickly back to her brothers room, she let out a long sigh before reaching out to open the door. She hadn't see her mom since her dad died about three years ago and she just knew her mom would be here.

The door came open with an eerie creek, and Malia held her breath, waiting. She heard the sounds of footsteps coming closer to the door entrance as she looked to the floor for comfort. Women's shoes quickly came into her vision as she heard an older woman with a timid voice. "Malia..?"

"Hi, Mom.." Malia said in response as she let out a soft sigh, wondering if coming here was a good idea. Her fears and worries all came to a halt when she felt her mother's embrace. All at once tears began to steam down Malia's face and her voice became very shakey. "Mom.. I'm so sorry..! I just got scared and I ran.. I should've contacted you or something, I'm sorry..!"

"Shh.. it's okay, my dear child. I've missed you with all my heart but we mustn't discuss this now, we've got to be here for your brother." Malia's mother then quickly pointed in the direction of which his bed was in, leading the way.

"What do you mean? Mikey is okay, isn't he? It was only a bite from an old man, wasn't it? Mom, what's going on?" Her voice got frantic as she started to worry about her brother, her childhood best friend and the only one she ever discussed her feelings with. She wouldn't know what to do if something happened to Mikey.

The look her mom gave her as soon as they reached Mikey's bedside made Malia realize, the only thing that happened to Mikey was probably the worst thing ever.

As Malia looked down at Mikey, tears began to run down her face once more. He seemed so lifeless, so dead.. she went to go ask her mom what was wrong with him and before she could the doctor walked in, looking very concerned.

"Mrs.Seniar.. we have news on your son. What he has is something we call Solanum, what this is, is a viral disease that attacks the brain and well.. slowly kills any part of the human it's inhabiting.. the virus then takes over the human body and makes them crave.. human brain. Mikey inhabited this disease by getting bit by the old man. The disease is spread by both bite and scratch. Lastly, there is no cure.. the only way to make it stop is to smash the patients brain or shot it's head.." With his final words Malia's mother fell to her knees and let out a loud scream, crying hysterically.

"NO! It can't be true, fix him! Fix him now!" Malia's mom cried out, clinging to the bed sheets of her son's bed for dear life. Tears streaming down her face. To Malia the whole room had gone completely silent and blank, there was nothing around her. She wanted to cry but she couldn't, for some reason she just felt emptiness, nothingness. All that she could hear was the horrid sound of her mother's tears hitting the floor. Malia wanted it to stop, all of it. This had to be a nightmare. There's no way this could actually be happening to her, right?

Several hours later, Malia and her mother have now moved to a tiny room in the very back of the hospital. In the room they are waiting for the doctor to return, it's been four hours since the doctor has left the room and they are both starting to feel very concerned.

"Mom, maybe we should go check on them, make sure everything is okay, don't you think?" Malia asked her mother, her voice timid and shakey. She was so scared but she was trying with all her might to be brave for her mother, she knew this had to be way harder on her mother, after all Mikey was her last child.

Together Malia and her mother walked out of the little room and began to make their way back to the waiting room. Upon arrival they could see the chairs and papers had been thrown around the room, it looked like a tiny hurricane had hit the room. Not a single soul was there, no one besides Malia and her mother. As they began to inspect the room further they could see streaks of red, it had dried and it resembled blood. Malia looked over at her mom, her eyes full of concern as she began to freak out a bit. "Mom, oh my God.. what could've happened?! Where is everyone?!" Malia proclaimed out as she placed her hands on her head.

"Malia, I don't know.. stay calm, and quiet." Malia's mother responded, making her way over to her daughter to comfort her. Malia tightly closed her eyes and wrapped her arms around her mother, clinging to her.

After Malia had managed to pull herself together they began to look around the hospital room, each room looking like the last, horrible. Soon they got to Mikey's room, it looked far worse than any of the others, blood was everywhere. Malia began to cry as she looked around the room, quickly noticing there was something written on the wall, in blood. It read "SENIAR FAMILY FIND SHELTER MIKEY GOT LOOSE AND IS INFECTING ALL OFFICE STAFF RUN"

Malia gasped out in fear, crying more before she heard a blood curdling scream, she quickly looked in the direction of her mom where she saw a man in a white lab coat, looking dead and his flesh rotted on top of her mother. The man ripped flesh from her mother's neck and Malia cried more, soon her mom would be dead if Malia didn't do anything.

Malia quickly looked around the room and grabbed a lamp from the corner of the room, remembering that the doctor said only a blow to the head would stop it, she quickly began to bash the thing's head in, crying more and more with each swing.

As soon as Malia was sure the creature was dead she pushed it off her mom and held her tightly, crying. "Momma! Momma, no!" Malia cried out as she held onto her mother tighter, her eyes shut. Before long she heard a growl coming from her mother, she opened her eyes to see that her mother was gone and all that was left was a creature with rotted flesh. Malia cried out more as she knew the only way to stop it was to kill her mother, but that wasn't her mother anymore.. this thing was a beast, a creature.

Malia quickly grabbed the lamp again, bashing in her mother's head as she cried out, dropping the lamp and running as quickly as she could out of the hospital.
