"Get the guns out, the Icelanders will be arriving at any second!" the chief commander of the Fire Clan yelled out.

Immediately, troops of soldiers marched their way across the field, their guns held sturdily by their sides. They walked with determination. Determination to please their King and people.

"We don't know if they will be bringing about the Gifted so we need to be armed and ready! Now they may have control over the element of water but we have our legendary dragons. Helena, make sure all of the dragons are led towards the back and are ready to take flight! And for God's sake, keep that bloody crown and my daughter SAFE!"

With a deafening roar, the whole village could hear the dragons being unbuckled and led to their positions. The atmosphere was now one of tension and fear. Smoke could be seen curling up at the sides of broken down houses, clouding the view of everyone. Soldiers continously went back and foth, weapons of all sorts in hand. Everything was put into place. All they needed was the other tribe to arrive...

"Commander! They're here! They're here!" a random soldier screeched out, pointing up at the blackened sky. A sea of faces shot up, and the Commander paled in shock.

"Everyone, out! Soldiers, attack!"

Bangs and gun shots littered the air, accompanied by the soldiers grunts and screams. Children were running about everywhere, crying and shouting for help. The pollution from the chemicals added further confusion and havoc amongst the villagers and intruders. People were beaten, thrashed, and thrown everywhere. No one was safe.

And so the battle continued; fire and ice fought against each other. Heat and coldness strived to win over the other. Both the Fire Clan and the Icelanders were hungry for power. But the main reason by all means was for the crown.

The crown which was stolen that day.

Taken by force from the Fire Clan.

By none other than the Icelanders.

Specks of white littered the wet floor. Kicking a few stray leaves aside, I continued walking dutifully towards my abandoned brick house. Bursts of light could be seen escaping through the glass windows, the solid white snow casting flickering shadows from it.

As I reached nearer, I could begin to see the outline of a figure. Which was strange. I was the only resident in my house.

Speeding my walk up, I frantically reached out towards the creaky door knob, putting the key in, twisting it, opening the door...

I halted. It couldn't be.

"Gina?" I said with uncertainty.

"It is I," the ever-growing figure replied.

Laughing mirthlessly the woman stepped forward, making her seem more dangerous by the second. "It's been a long time, eh?"

I nervously staggered back. It had been years since I had last saw her, and she had decided to come back now, of all time.

"Why? What do you want?" I growled, taking care to close the still hanging door.

"What do I want?" she smirked over at me, "Oh Tanya, you have yet to learn. When you take from the King, you must always give back."

Shaking my head in disbelief, I wrapped my arms around my body tightly. No. Not now, when everything was finally falling in place for me in my 25 years of living.

"Pass it over here, darling. You didn't really think you'd slip free from the King, did you?"

My breaths started to come out quicker, sharper. My already erratic heartbeat was pulsing louder in my veins. I knew I was in trouble now.

"Thing is Gina, I don't have it," I replied as my eyes darted across the room at everything but her. I hoped in vain that my feeble attempt to stall had worked.

Gina's tall figure crept closer still, until her chin was directly in level with my forehead. Tilting her head, she scanned my face carefully for any traces of deception.

She opened her mouth, "Is that so?"

"Yes," I whispered.

"Well then, it seems as if you'll have to be taken back to the Ice Kingdom after all."

I gulped. "Look, Gina, is there not any other way, anything else..." I pleaded.

She shook her head firmly at me. A hint of remorse flashed across her regal features before replacing it with her usual grave expression.

"Take my hand, it'll be a long flight."

"You're not even going to search my house?" I questioned while arching my eyebrows.

Chuckling Gina replied, "And you think I haven't already? I mean a crown, gold for that matter, isn't the hardest thing to find. This house," she glanced around with distaste at the worn down room, "is not one that would even be deemed worthy to hold its place. However I must obey the King's orders." She gave out a sigh.

Breathing heavily, I interlocked my clammy fingers with her icy slender ones. Taking one last glance at my home, I slouched down in defeat.

No.

This wouldn't be the end. I refused it to be the end. The Ice King would be overthrown once and for all. That crown did not belong to him. It belonged to me. I would make sure that crown returned to me even if it took months, years, decades or longer. I didn't care.

It was mine.
