*Trying to see how well I can do might just be a short story feel free to give your input*

The sound of birds chirping invaded my peaceful sleep. Just when I thought the birds were going to stop and I would get some nice quiet time my alarm went off. I groaned and rolled over on the bed towards my phone and picked it up. 6 am was the time, and I had 1 hour to get ready for school. Another dreadful Monday morning, I thought to myself as I dragged myself out of bed and went towards the bathroom. I stared in the mirror for a couple seconds. I observed the star tattoo on my chest with the letter C written in it which stood for my mother's name, Charmaine. It blended in perfectly with my dark complexion and my not so muscular chest. I was about 6 ft 2 inches tall and slim built. My cousins were up and about but I had no time to converse. I tidied my room and placed my uniform on right after I got something to eat.

I sat on the bed playing with my pocket knife waiting for the time to hit 6:55 am. It took me just a couple minutes to get to school since I was just a stone throw away. West Hampshire was my hometown and West Hampshire High was my home school, even though this was a tough place to live in I still managed to make my way through and keep some kind of positivity within me. After placing my knife in my socks I was on my way to school. As I made two to three steps inside the school compound my friends were already calling my name.

"Hey yo Mikey!!" One of them shouted from the soccer field.

Mikey was short for Michael, even though I was the quiet kind of guy everyone knew me and everyone knew that they weren't suppose to fuck with me either.

"Wassup bruh!!" I yelled back as I wave the peace sign in the air.

The peace sign was our own hand sign for our crew, The Alphas. Even though alpha means beginning, we didn't necessary start shit with nobody but we had no problem ending shit neither. I made my way to class and showed up some minutes late as usual.

"Late again Michael." Mrs. Brown, my teacher said when I walked in.

"Sorry I got held up in traffic." I replied.

"You live like 3 minutes away." She said with an attitude.

"So? I still got held up in traffic!" I fired back which caused some of the students to start snickering.

"Ugh just take your seat." She said as she brushed me off.

I smiled and made my way to the back where my friends were and dapped them up. It was just four of us from the crew that was in this class and my four homies that were here with me were the only close friends I had and the only ones I could trust. Sitting beside me was Brandon, we have been friends from elementary, he was always coming to me for help whenever he got into trouble with some other kids. Brandon was about medium height, had short Indian hair and a dark complexion but was a little bit lighter than me. In front of me was Tevin we met when I started high school, he was almost as tall as me and was light in complexion and kind of had this Chinese look to his face. Raheem was sitting beside me, he was short and dark in complexion and then there was Tyler, he was the only fattish one out of all of us and he was medium height and had a light complexion.

We spent most of the class time talking and catching up on our weekend but as usual I made sure that my work was already finished. As I said earlier I still had a little positivity within me.

"So what about you Tevin, how was your weekend?" I asked him as I sat back in my chair.

"Same old same old, just fucked a couple bitches and chilled that's all." He said while shrugging his shoulder.

"Yeah and by bitches I know you mean your palm right!" Raheem said which caused us to all buss out laughing.

Tevin swore he was the ladies man of the crew and Raheem was just the straight up shade thrower.
