“Sure, why not,” I said. “I could use a nice sit-down talk with Kate.”
“And I could use some video game time with Christian,” Nate smiled.
“Wow, when I’m done talking to Kate, I’m gonna beat your butt in MW3,” I
smirked.
“Oh, is that a challenge I’m hearing,” Nate questioned.
“Yes, I think it is,” I grinned.
“Oh, well I say we get this challenge started right now,” he said. “What do you
say?”
“Heck yeah,” I smiled. “Let’s move the game player to the living room and have
a game day until Kate and Christian can hang out.”
I helped him move the gaming system to the living room, and set it up.
“I’m glad that you’re feeling good enough to be somewhat alive today,” Nate
told me as we sat down next to each other on the couch.
I scooted myself closer to him, and said, “Me too.”
“Do you need Tylenol or anything else before we start playing,” he asked me.
“No, I think I’m okay,” I assured him.
“If you say so,” he said.
After that we started playing and hardly talked to each other.
Kate
“I wonder how Brittney’s feeling today,” I said to Christian while we were
working on science.
“I don’t know why don’t you call her,” he suggested.
“I will as soon as we’re done with this,” I said.
“Okay, do you understand any of this,” he asked me.
“No,” I said lying my head on the table.
“Do you need help,” Christian asked.
“Of course I need help,” I said. “Why won’t you just do it for me?”
“Because that’s cheating, and then when the test comes around you won’t know
how to do it,” he explained.
“So, it’s not like we’ll be taking the test with anybody monitoring us,” I said.
“Fine, but I’m still going to make sure that you know how to do it,” he told me.
“Sounds good enough to me,” I replied.
Christian explained to me how to do the science project, and then he made me
do it.
“There, now we are done with school for today,” Christian smiled. “Good job
on finally finishing your science.”
“Thank you,” I said. “Will you try calling Nate’s phone, Brittney didn’t answer
