"Well you're not exactly a social butterfly yourself Lin." I said, causing him to laugh out loud.
"I think my TWO MILLION Twitter followers would disagree." He said, yelling the "two million" part. I covered my ears.
"We can hear you no need to shout. Also, they don't count. They don't know you personally." I said. Lin pouted.
"But-"
"Nope. Anyways, as Lin was saying before, Alex, this is Lin." I told her. Lin smiled, holding out his hand again for Alex to shake it. She just stood there, staring at him in awe and shock. She also kind of looked like she was going to hurl...
"I don't bite you know." He joked. I laughed a little.
"Yes he does. He bit a kid once because the kid stole his Game Boy." I told Alex, causing her to look a little less stressed out and a little more scared.
"That doesn't count! I was like ten!" Lin said, causing Alex's eyes to widen.
"So...you did bite a kid because he stole your Game Boy?" Alex asked curiously, actually speaking for the first time since we got here.
"It was my Game Boy! And I was ten! I just...never mind." Lin sighed as Vanessa walked in through the door carrying her purse and a few other bags. I took Alex to my room where we put our book bags down and started working on our project.
"So...which marsupial are we doing?" I asked her, taking out a piece of paper and pencil. Alex looked at me like I was crazy.
"A Mars-Soup-Eel what now?" Alex asked. I rolled my eyes.
"A marsupial. The animals with pouches. Kangaroo, koala, wallaby-"
"Wallabies and kangaroos are the same thing, duh." Alex said.
"No...they're not. Now which animal do you want to do?" I asked again, trying to jot down different things.
"This is a biology class. Why are we learning about stupid pouch-animal-things?" Alex groaned, flopping onto the bed dramatically.
"It's a marsupial Alex, not a pouch-animal-thing. Also, we've been learning about marsupials for the past two weeks. We're doing a project on the anatomy. Now, pick a marsupial." I said.
"Fine. Let's do a koala. They're a pouch-animal-thing, right?" Alex asked.
"A MARSUPIAL!" I yelled, feeling extremely annoyed while Alex found it hilarious and started laughing. I rolled my eyes and started searching things up on the koala.
We were about halfway through our project when Lin told us it was time for dinner and we stopped because Alex begged that we take a break and eat.
When we got to the kitchen, I noticed that Lin and Vanessa had gotten pizza.
"I got pepperoni, but I also got a cheese in case you're a vegetarian. One time, I had one of my friends over and we had meat lovers pizza and he was a vegetarian. I felt really bad, but no worries, it was the same guy who stole my Game Boy when I was ten. I wanted to take the pizza and shove it right down his throat and-"
"Lin!" Vanessa said, cutting him off. Lin chuckled a little.
"Too much?" He asked. I rolled my eyes and sat down at the table next to Alex. I guess Lin really holds grudges...
I watched as everyone started eating. I slowly took a few bites out of mine, eventually finishing the whole piece. Alex and Vanessa were taking about something when Lin looked over at me.
"Want more?" He asked, reaching over to the pizza box to grab me another slice.
"No. I'm full, thanks anyway." I said. Lin gave me a look. "What?"
"Miel, eat another piece of pizza." He said.
"No, I'm not going to. I already had a slice Lin. And I had a big lunch." I told him. That's...not exactly true. I don't really eat my lunch that much anymore. Only the peanut butter sandwich Lin makes, and sometimes I steal Violet's brownies. I don't need more than that, that's plenty.
"You really ate all of your lunch?" Lin asked. By this point, we had attracted the attention of Vanessa and Alex.
"Yes, I did. Right Alex?" I asked, giving her a look.
"You don't eat your lunch. Well, other than Violet's brownies and sometimes my cookies but-OW!" Alex yelped as I kicked her, giving her a look. Her eyes widened and she seemed to have gotten the message. "OOOOH! Um...yeah...Paisley eats her lunch all the time."
"Then what was with the "OW" and "OOOOH" and "um"? Come on Paisley just eat a little-"
"I already ate a piece, okay Lin? I'm not doing this right now." I said, standing up with Alex as we went back to my room. We worked on the project for a little while longer until Alex spoke up.
"Paisley...are you...are you actually struggling with eating? Because if you are you can talk to me." Alex said. I sighed, looking down.
"No I just...Lin's just being paranoid about every little thing. Let's just get back to work." I muttered, and after that Alex dropped the subject. We finally finished the project and ended up falling asleep in the middle of watching a movie.
