Chapter 4: Amortentia

Start from the beginning

He glared at me and opened his book.

Amortentia.

That's what we're creating today.

Great.

1 hour later

The lavender-colored potion had been brewed, Malfoy and I called over Slughorn in order for him to see what we had accomplished.

"Well done. Please have a smell and tell us what appears to be of attraction to you." Slughorn said, smiling at us. He was proud of what we had brewed.

"Mr. Malfoy, If you may." Professor Slughorn smiled, directing Malfoy to smell the potion for the first time.

"I smell lavender... parchment and the – library?" He said, he was surprised by his answer. Slughorn smiled.

"Well done, my boy. Now, Miss Granger." He nodded at me. I leaned over, smelling the potion we had created.

"Spearmint, the – quidditch pitch and rain?" I said, unaware of what I had described.

"Brilliant. You two are dismissed." Professor Slughorn had insisted. I smiled and thanked him.

I picked up my books and parchment, leaving the class.

I was on the way to the library when I heard feet behind me.

Draco's POV

As I read the names on the board, I groaned. Parkinson. She simply annoys me. She is extremely clingy, everyone who has met her would agree. I looked over at Zabini who started to chuckle at me.

"You shouldn't be laughing, Zabini. You're partnered with Granger. Merely pathetic." I said with a slight chuckle. He sent me a glare.

"Want to swap? We both know how much you want to be partnered with Granger." Blaise sent me his infamous smirk. I rolled my eyes. I looked over at Pansy who was staring at me with dreamy eyes, she waved at me and bit her lip

I feel ill.

"On second thought," I said, turning to Blaise who still had his smirk placed on his face. I got up from my seat and sat next to Granger.

Blaise wasn't fussed by working with Parkinson. After all, she is an easy shag.

"It was you or Parkinson," I stated, making her groan in frustration.

The day had finished, I decided to spend my evening in the library, attempting to clear my head from this morning. I'm attracted to someone who smells like the library? I wasn't even aware that I was attracted to someone in the first place, let alone someone who smells like the library.

I began walking around the library when I smelt a familiar scent. I turned the corner and bumped into someone.

"Granger, how splendid." I began, seeing her drop her books onto the floor. I picked them up and gave it to her. She looked at me annoyed, cliché.

She took her books and span around, her curls hitting me across the face.

"Mind your hair, Granger," I said, smirking – beginning to walk after her. "Quite frankly, I believe it isn't even classified hair, anymore. It's more like a bush, if you ask me."

She suddenly stopped in her stride, turning toward me. She was about to fall until I grabbed her waist and pulled her toward me, stopping her body from hitting the ground.

Our faces were mere inches apart, I admired her caramel orbs and the way her cheeks reddened when I came into direct eye contact with her. Her lips were pink, seemingly perfect. She was utterly amazing.

Don't be oblivious, Draco. She is nothing but a girl, who is attractive. Wake up! The small voice yelled in my head. I ignored it, embracing the moment I had with her.

A small smirk was growing on my face.

"I bet you're loving this, Granger. I could say so myself. I am too." I winked at her. Positioning her upright, I let go of my embrace on her and walked away, leaving the Brunette to her thoughts.

I walked to the Slytherin common room, finding Blaise sitting across from the fireplace.

"Mate, we have a problem," I stated, annoyed at what I had discovered.
