Tap. Tap-tap. Tap.
Something that wasn't the rain began hitting your window. The obnoxious noise waking you from your blissful dream. When your eyes had opened you had felt like your eyelids were being weighed down by anvils, and your muscles ached. You didn't want to move at all, your were so warm and cozy in your spot and you just wanted to drift into slumber once again.
Tap. Tap.
It kept going, and you didn't know what it was. You then reached for your phone and turned it on. The brightness blinding you for a few seconds.
4:57 a.m.
You read. You groaned tiredly and began to slowly pry yourself from out of your bed to see what was hitting your window. At first, you were weary, opening the curtain at the very edge to be careful not to be seen by whoever may be out there.
Tap.
Another tap, but this time you saw what was making the noise. A simple, little pebble had been thrown towards your window. Now you knew someone was out there. You quickly closed the curtain and placed your hand over your heart as you felt it's pace quicken. You backed up, just a few steps, and began contemplating if you should open up your curtains again. You didn't want too, especially after tonight, but at the same time what could be worse then having a gun pulled on you? You glanced back at the phone in your hands. . .
4:58 a.m.
You opened up your curtains slowly, but only found Lotor standing there. From the looks of it he seemed to have been there for quite a while. At the moment so much relief had coursed through your system. You were glad to see him okay, but. . .he didn't look the best. You opened up your window and waved.
"I'm so glad you're okay." He smiled, then suddenly, he began to climb up the side of the house.
"Whoa! What are you doing?!" You whisper-yelled at him but he didn't seemed phased. He only looked at you with a confused expression and shrugged.
"Huh?" He questioned. You scoffed and murmured "whatever" to him and walked back over to your bed and waited for him. Once he had finally made it up he walked over to your bed as well and sat next to you.
"Are you okay?" He asked you, seeming genuinely concerned for your well-being. You looked over towards him, only seeing what the moonlight illuminated. You didn't know how to exactly answer that, even though you weren't in any immediate danger and even though nothing physically hurt you, you knew that you weren't okay.
"I—I don't know." You say as you got up from sitting on the bed. Crossing your arms, you looked out the window and towards the bright moonlight. Your eyes wandered every corner of the crescent shaped heavenly body. Mystery was the only word to describe it.
"What do you mean? You're safe, you're not hurt, you're okay." He says as a means to brighten your mood. You turn to face him, noticing that he inched his way closer to you. You turned back and sighed.
"But I'm not." You say lazily, still looking out your window. You began fidgeting with your fingers, to be quite honest, you felt a little queasy.
"I've never been exposed to situations like these, Lotor. Now I'm scared even when I don't have to be. How am I supposed to be okay?" You asked.
"I'll be here. You can count on me. I protected you from Haxus and Sendak, I will always be able to do more—"
"Yeah but at what cost?" You questioned, turning to him. He wore a quizzical expression at your words but he tried to answer your question. However, you quickly resumed your speech.
