"What? No! You're here to watch me score." He says so confidently and nonchalant.
"Huh?" You questioned, deadpanned.
"Here we go." Keith all of a sudden appeared next to you. Rolling his eyes and crossing his arms, he must do that on a daily.
"Here! Watch, watch! Let me impress you with my god-like skills." You cringed.
"What did he just say?" You asked yourself. But you ultimately shrugged off what he said and continued to stare in his direction.
"Who's up for fuse ball?" Shiro exclaimed, and soon everyone had raised their hand and followed him off. Lance noticed them leave, a sad expression painted on his face. You had to admit, you felt kinda bad for him. So, you decided to stay.
"So, are you gonna shoot or what?" You piped up and he had immediately looked your way. When he saw you a gentle smile sneaked onto his lips.
"Yeah." He said in a quieter tone then what he would usually use.
You had watched Lance shoot as many baskets he could in under seven minutes. Surprisingly, he scored nearly sixty in that time span. Once the buzzer had gone off, signaling it was time for him to stop, he turned to you.
"Wow, I'm impressed." You say.
"Are you on the basketball team or something?" He chuckled and began rubbing the back of his head, he seemed to be a bit nervous for some reason.
"Yeah. Our season just ended though." Lance briefly explained for you, but even though he used a happy tone, something in his voice sounded sad.
"Are you alright? Ever since they left you look like you've just been put in the dog house." You stated. He laughed at your analogy and began leaning on the basketball game.
"Yeah, I'm okay. I've just been thinking about home is all." His words confused you, you had previously though Arus was his home.
"What?" You asked blatantly.
"Ohh, you're new." Lance sighed softly and began to explain.
"Voltron high isn't just a school, it's private. . .like an Academy but, not at the same time. We don't have to wear uniforms, the rules are the same as any other high school but, it's nowhere near where I live. When I got excepted I didn't realize at first that I would have to move to a completely different town. I had to leave my family behind just so I could attend this school." You felt bad for Lance, you knew more than anyone that leaving someone you care about behind hurts. It hurts more then a scrape or a bruise. Then you heard him slightly sniffle, the sound was so small it was almost inaudible.
"It's okay though. I have my friends, I have you now too. . .I'll be fine." Lance says in order to try and reassure himself.
"Lance, I know how you feel. I had to leave someone very special to me behind when I moved. But. . .I know I'll see them again. And they're your family, you're bound to see them again very soon." You say to help him relieve his worries.
"Thanks (Y/n)." He says with saddened eyes but wears a gentle smile.
"No problem." You beamed.
