2. Then we need to install Ethereum Software

(How:

1. First, we need to geth tool which is the main Ethereum "client".

Note: "Ethereum is really a peer-to-peer netwrok, that means each node is a server and client at the same time. Ang node na naglalaman ng kumpletong blockchain history sa database ay tinatawag na 'Full Node'. kaya para sa guide na to di natin kailangan na i-run pa ang full node, dahil ang mining pools na mismo ang gagawa nito para sayo. Pero need pa rin natin ng geth para makagawa ng Private key ng iyong Ethereum Wallet, kung saan natin marereceive ang mga crypto coins na galing sa pagmamine."

2. Add the Ethereum APT repository using these commands:

sudo apt-get install software-properties-common

sudo add-apt-repository ppa:ethereum/ethereum

sudo apt-get update

3. Sa Debian 8 naman kailangan nating ireplace ang repository name with this command: ( When you are using Ubuntu you can skip this one)

sudo sed 's/jessie/vivid/' -i /etc/apt/sources.list.d/ethereum-ethereum-*.list

sudo apt-get update

*

4. Then Install ethereum, ethminer and geth:

sudo apt-get install ethereum ethminer geth

3. Create Ethereum Wallet

- a wallet where coins are stored are called Ethereum wallet. Hindi naman talaga sya naka stored sa wallet kasi yung wallet na yun ay isang private key lang naman na ikaw lang ang meron. Ang balance ng wallet na yun ay makikita ng lahat na gumagamit ng blockchain database.

(How:

1. So ito yung command na makakagawa ng iyong kauna-unahang private key para sa iyong wallet:

geth account new

Warning: "Be aware, that this passphrase protects the private key of your wallet. kung sino man ang may access sa file na yun at alam ang passphrase mo ay magkakaron ng full control sa iyong mga coins and syempre wag niyo kakalimutan ang passphrase nyo dahil mawawala lang lahat ng mga coins na naipon mo!"

Ang output ng "geth account new" ay nagpapakita ng isang mahabang character/number sequence na may {} ---------> this is your wallet address at kailangan mong inotes yan, dahil kapag mayroong gustong magsend ng pera sayo, dyan nila sa address na yan isesend yun. )

4.Then Install (proprietary) nvidia driver

- Para sa mga OpenCL or CUDA network na gumagana with nvidia graphic cards, kailangan nyo munang iinstall ang proprietary driver mula sa nvidia.

(How:

1. After you have agreed the terms, download NVIDIA-Linux-x86_64-XXX.XX.run file. Pero bago natin yan gamitin yang installer kailangan muna nating maginstall ng ilang mga dependacies na kailangan ng installer dahil ito ay magcocompile ng isang Linux Kernel module para sayo. Install the dependecies using this command:

sudo apt-get install linux-headers-amd64 build-essential

2. At pwede na nating gawing executable ang installer at i-run tulad nito:

chmod +x NVIDIA-Linux-x86_64-384.90.run

sudo ./NVIDIA-Linux-x86_64-384.90.run

3. Kapag completed yan at walang error na nangyari, then we should be able to run the mining benchmark!

ethminer -M -G

*

Note: "The -M means "run benchmark" and the -G is for GPU mining. The first time you run it it will create a DAG file and that will takes a while. After that is should show a inner mean hashrate. If it says H/s that is hashes per second and KH is kilo (H/1000) and MH is megahashes per second (KH/1000). I had numbers around 25-30 MH/s, but for real mining you will see an average that is a balanced number and not a min/max range."

5. then we need to pick the Ethereum Network

-Kailangan nating maging seryoso dito dahil kailangan mo magdecide, una ay kung saang Ethereum network mo gustong magmine? at ang pangalawa ay kung ano naman ang gagamitin mong pool.

- May dalawang network ang Ethereum, one is called Ethereum One or Core, samanatalang yung isa naman ay tinatawag na Ethereum Classic.

Note: "Ethereum has made a hardfork to undo the consequences of a software bug in the DAO. The DAO is a smart contract for a decentralized organization. Because of that bug, a blackhat could use that bug to obtain money from that DAO. The Ethereum developers made a poll and decided that the consequences will be undone. Not everyone agreed and the old network stayed alive and is now called Ethereum Classic short ETC. The hardfork kept its short name ETH."

This is important to understand for mining, because the hashing difficulty has a huge difference between ETH and ETC. As of writing, the hashrate of ETC is at 20% compared to ETH. Thus you need less computing time to get ETC coins and more time to get ETH coins. Differently said, ETC mining is currently more profitable.

6. Pick a pool

-Pwede ka naman magmine kahit walang pool eh at yun ay ang tinatawag nilang solo mining pero unti lang naman yung reward na makukua mo. But wait... Ano nga pala ang mining pool? ito ay ang mga multiple computers na gumagana sa parehas na block para makahanap ng mabilis na solusyon kumpara sa iba. Ang pool ay mayroong aggregated hashrate na mas malaki kesa sa mga solo miners. Kapag mayroong nakita ang isang grupo sa isang block ay makakatanggap silang lahat ng reward.

Ano nga ba ang mga reward na yun?

The reward of 5 ether currently per block gets split in the same ratio of hashrate each member provides (minus the pool fee). So while you get less for a found block, you still have a steady lower income rate instead of higher with less chance of finding one (in time). Simply said: you have to find a new block faster than the others to receive the reward.

7. The last one is to run ethminer

-here is an example of the pool:

ethminer -G -F http://yolo.ethclassic.faith:9999/0x<YOUR_WALLET_ADDRESS> --farm-recheck 200
