It hurt.
My eyes were squeezed shut so all I could see was darkness.
My body was in pain; to be more specific, my behind, my right wrist, and the back of my head were aching pretty bad.
What happened to me? I wondered in my mind.
The harsh impact on my head must have caused me to have a mental block.
Or perhaps it's...
I abruptly halted my inference before my heart began to feel heavier than it already was. I shifted slightly which allowed me to perceive the grass underneath my arms and legs, tickling my bare skin. As I thought, I was sprawled on the ground. A sudden realization hit me as I came to a conclusion of what had occurred.
Oh, right! I fell off... a tree.
In that moment, I had the urge to slap my face due to my stupidity. I pondered on the reason why I did such a dangerous thing. Then, the object held in my left hand caught my attention and it made me remember what I was doing prior to falling down the tree.
My digicam... Right. I was taking pictures of the breathtaking scenery from up the tree. As I was getting down to a lower branch, my foot slip and so I fell. At least the branch I slipped from wasn't very high, but still... I groaned in frustration. Oh, dear Lord. I hope my camera's lens is intact!
Without warning, a cool breeze blew softly which felt very refreshing in this summer heat. It lasted for a fairly long time so I smiled and relaxed my body while I enjoyed the passing wind.
I just hope no one saw me falling like an idiot...
"Are you all right, love?"
All of a sudden, I heard a man's voice with a British accent a few steps away from me. I could hear his footsteps approaching as he crunched the grass on his path. This man sounded very near when he stopped in his tracks. In fact, I could sense him right next to me.
Just great. I pray that he didn't see what happened... Putting that thought aside, did he just call me "love"?
Hesitantly, I slowly opened my eyelids and was met by a pair of vibrant emerald irises. One thought immediately came to my mind.
"Your eyes are so beautiful..." I thought mesmerizingly as I gazed at his handsome face.
For some unknown reason, he frowned... or smiled? Hold on. I quickly realized that his head was turned upside down from my point of view because he was kneeling next to the top of my head. He was looming over me and was casting a shadow on my face, shielding me from the blinding sun. The sunlight made his messy blond locks shine brightly and parts of the outline of his hair merged with the sunlight; it was stunning.
Oh, no. I can feel my cheeks getting warm! I panicked in my head. Ah, I should answer his question, too!
"I... uhm, I'm, I'm fine..." I stammered nervously, causing my face to get warmer.
"I see. I'm glad to hear that," he mumbled gently with a pleasant smile.
For a while, we stared at each other in silence. I couldn't explain why but I found myself transfixed on his beautiful green eyes. They captivated me so much I was practically fighting the urge to capture those wonderful orbs with my camera.
