EXTENDED SUMMARY
Haley has always wanted one thing, and this may be her last chance to get it- a bright, burning summer fling to lead her into the fall.
And it looks like she might get one. Or multiple. Or zero. When Nate drops into her life, it seems like he just might be the person to give her the cheesy, cliched, intense summer romance that she's always dreamed of.
She can practically see how it's gonna go. Her, late nights, beaches and a gorgeous boy. But add in two instead, a beautiful best friend, plus all kinds of tension, and the equation gets a whole lot more complicated.
She isn't scared of love, or caring too much or emotional entanglements. Isn't that just part of the package? She's much more afraid of not feeling anything at all - even if it's heartbreak. Even so, she's surprised at just how much it chips at her heart to realize that these things don't just happen. She forgets that even when two people are drawn together, sometimes one falls faster than the other. Or even worse, sometimes one falls for someone else entirely.
It causes just as much of the good kind of heartache when it seems like he's looking nowhere but at her.
Caught up in the whirlwind of back-and-forth emotions between the two, it takes her a while to remember that no matter what happens during the summer, at the end of it all, he can't stay.

(mini) Author's note:
thank you so much for the cover, @s-pr-ing , and for the aesthetics, @Lazybrew!
hey guys! i've been wanting to write a summer romance for a really long time now, and I'm finally gonna do it! this is pretty much wish-fulfillment, because if I can't have a summer romance myself, at least I can write about it. and HOPEFULLY give you guys some second-hand butterflies that will make you want to text your crush and dance around to 'you belong with me' plus some new material for those in-class daydreams! so if you're looking for a low-stress, fun, dramatic story with impossibly attractive boys, cheesiness, cliches, kisses and fights, and tons of sexual tension, i hope you find that this is the book for you.
the first chapter should be up soon. thanks for reading!
