Jerod was running away, the sound of his heavy breathing and his clothes rustling broke the silence of the dark forest. He then muttered an enchantment while running, summoning help. His Hibuna appeared, the golden scales of its streamlined body slightly shone when hit by traces of the moonlight as the large fish-like creature glided through the thin air, manoeuvring with its strong fins.
The young man then leapt off a boulder and landed right on the back of his Hibuna, immediately taking control of it while swiftly evading the incoming tall trees. Within the clasp of his fingers, lay a small sphere-like object encased in a crystal vessel. He was holding it in such a way that his grasp was gentle enough not to break it but firm enough to hold it while flying through the dense nature of the Carassius Forest. The sphere was glowing blue, with a glow that was mesmerising but soothing to any eyes that gazed upon it.
Two figures were chasing them from behind, they were following the rays of light that escaped through the spaces in between Jerod's fingers. The figures flew through the forest, withering the plants wherever they went. They were actually Oviwraths, cloaked ghastly creatures sent by dark wizards to steal the eggs of the Kingyos. It was said that those who devoured the eggs of the Kingyos shall obtain special powers, powers that will put these wizards to stand above ordinary wizards. In a world where one's magical prowess stood above all, where colossal castles towered over towns and thick forests filled the gaps in between great cities and vast kingdoms, power was the only thing that mattered; or so they thought.
In fact, the object within Jerod's possession was one of the last eggs of a special kind of Kingyo. The very reason why he was running for his life; to protect the last descendant of the Farea bloodline; whose role in this enchanted world was yet to be known.
