Love's Fever
By J. Lynne Moore
(04/24/2018)Upon my tongue 'tis sickly sweet,
This copper flavored soulful treat.Dirty and wet my lips drink more,
The taste of love's bloody roar.Come on now! How dare you stop?
My fever bleeds red for your junk shop.Wake my soul and suck me dry;
Backed in a corner, I won't ask why.You're my weakness, breakfast and mortal sin!
Let's jump the shark, then do it again!Tattoo my heart with your soul's name;
Come on baby this isn't a game.Let the melanoid night swallow us whole,
And lay long tangled, in the yellow glow.
