hand for me to take. I entwined our fingers and then we walked to the kitchen.
“What do you want,” Sarah asked.
“Anything you have since I’m not really that picky,” I told her.
“Let’s see if my dad will take us out to get some food.” She started leading me
towards the total opposite side of the house.
“How about you go and ask him and I’ll stay here,” I suggested.
“Nick, my dad is not going to shoot you. My mom might if she was here, but my
dad won’t,” Sarah assured me.
“I’m trusting you on this,” I told her.
“Good,” she smirked and led me to the family room.
“Who’s this,” Sarah’s dad asked us as we entered the room.
“Dad, this is my boyfriend Nick,” Sarah smiled.
“How come I haven’t meant him yet,” Sarah’s dad asked.
“Because he just barely became my boyfriend,” Sarah said. “Anyway, we’re
hungry so we were wondering if you’d take us out to eat.”
“Do either of you have money?”
“No,” Sarah answered, “but it would be a great time for you to get to know Nick.”
“Okay, where do you want to go,” Sarah’s dad asked.
“The little Italian restaurant place,” Sarah suggested.
“Cavalier Pizza,” Sarah’s dad asked.
“Yeah,” she smiled.
“Okay, you two go get your coats and shoes,” Sarah’s dad told us. We walked
back to Sarah’s room to get our jackets and put our shoes on.
“See I told you that he wasn’t going to shoot you,” Sarah laughed.
“Zip it,” I told her. “He acts like he doesn’t like me.”
“He acts like that with all of my boyfriends,” Sarah said.
“Just curious, how many boyfriends have you had?”
“Two or three,” Sarah said.
“Are you two coming or not,” Sarah’s dad called.
“Be out in a couple of minutes,” Sarah called back to him.
“Let’s go,” I told her while helping her put her coat on.
“If you say so,” she kissed me again.

“What,” she said groggily.
“I’m gonna go home, but you need to wake up to take your medication.”
“Stay the night here,” she told me.
