They kept quiet as Niall placed his hands on Lynn's hips, pulling her into his chest. She easily followed his moves by wrapped her arms around his neck, their eyes landing on each other.
You never know when you're gonna meet someone. And your whole wide world, in a moment, comes undone.
When Lynn and Niall sat down to plan the wedding, it was easy to pick out the song they would first dance to. Niall had already chosen it way back when they first heard the song together only a few days after they met. It brought back the memory of them slow dancing to this very song at a wedding that wasn't there's... during a time when they weren't together.
So swaying there then, under the sparkling patio lights strung from tree to tree at their own wedding, was something that Lynn knew was going to be a memory she would cherish forever.
I know that it's gonna take some time, I've got to admit that the thought has crossed my mind, that this might end up like it should.
Niall's arms wrapped around Lynn's waist and placed his chin on the top of her head just as the first couple stood from their table and joined them, followed by others until the makeshift dance floor was filled with swaying pairs around them.
Lynn nudged her nose against his neck, smelling his cologne that she loved, and closed her eyes. The music spun around them, lifting away gravity. She severed the moment in Niall's arms, knowing this was just the beginning and that he wasn't going anywhere any time soon.
"I love you," she whispered against his skin, her hand coming up to run through the dark hair on the back of his head.
Niall smiled. Hearing that was never going to get old to him. "Love you," he mumbled back against her ear. "Can't fucking believe we're married."
Lynn moved her right hand and looked at the rock on her fourth finger. It wasn't big and fancy like the other wife's of Niall's soccer teammates, but Lynn preferred it this way and Niall knew that. He had gotten in contact with Jamie to help him pick out the ring, but later she had told Lynn that he didn't need any help at all. He knew exactly what ring he was going to get, he just needed a little push of confidence. So the ring that sparkled against the hanging lights around them was chosen one hundred percent by the man in her arms which only made it that more special to her.
And I'm gonna say what I need to say and hope to God that it don't scare you away, I don't want to be misunderstood. But I'm starting to believe that this could be the start of something good.
As the ending notes of the song rang out through the backyard, there was soft clapping and cheering around them as the guests applauded their first dance as a married couple.
They would have loved to stay there and continue holding each other for the rest of the night, but they knew that they had to go and start greeting everyone before they left for the evening.
"Good to see you again, Bobby," Lynn said as she leaned in to give Niall's dad a hug. "Glad you made it."
"'Course I made it," he smiled as they pulled away, looking at the newlyweds with so much pride in his eyes. "Wouldn't miss my son getting married, could I?"
"It's just a shame your mother couldn't stay," Niall's grandmother added, joining into the conversation. "I was never a fan of her, but I would have put my differences aside for her to be here. Unfortunately, she didn't feel the same way."
Lynn looked up at Niall. "Maura was here?"
"Before the wedding when you were getting ready," he confirmed. "She, uh... had a lot to say about the marriage and when I gave her an ultimatum, she made her choice and left."
