•Kylie's Point of View

After I had awaken, I saw a smirk emerge onto his face. He was glazing into my eyes as if he could see my soul, the one he had broken as I sat in shackles. He tried to caress my face but I quickly pulled away hesitantly.

"I know that you don't want to be here. But you are mine for eternity. This is your fate." he said as he touched my hair. I stared blankly at his chiseled face as he started to come towards me. He looked deeply into my eyes, almost burning holes through me.

He finally left the room, each girl he kidnapped howling for him, screaming to be let out.

I sat there, contemplating how I got here.

I was walking home one minute, trapped in this stupid cell the next. As I kept thinking about my past encounter with him, I heard someone whisper my name. It was my neighbor, living in jail cell 315. Her name was Laurel. She was whispering for me, trying to initiate conversation.

"How'd you get here?" she asked, her voice faint.

I remembered.

"I was walking home. The moon was luminous and the trees were swaying. I was going to go clean out my things from my ex-boyfriend's apartment. I knew it was late at night but I just felt like I needed to go there sooner than later. I was strolling down the street, my keys making noise. I got a call as I walked. It was my mom. She had heard about the breakup and asked me if I needed a place to stay. I told her yes and she hung up. I continued to walk and heard footsteps behind me. I continued and started to walk faster and faster. The footsteps got faster and faster. Then I started to run. I turned around as soon as I got far enough. Nothing. I turn back around only to see him. He captured me and I ended up here." I said, my voice cracking.

I didn't want to cry but I felt myself losing who I was in the god forsaken place.

"That sounds horrible. We need to leave this place. We need to escape." she said.

I heard the hope still in her voice as she spoke. I had already lost that when I tried the first time. I wanted to agree, I did, but I couldn't. I kept my mouth shut, letting her speak. Letting her truly believe.

"I think if we run or hide, we could bust out of here and get back home." Laurel exclaimed.

I continued to keep my mouth shut,  letting her think she had a chance, but honestly I don't think there is one.

She stopped speaking. She said goodnight and closed her eyes.

I, on the other hand, couldn't even shut mine.
