Getting Started | Sniper x Assistant!Reader (TF2)

Today was a day of relaxation though, mostly today being their one day off a year. You could swear once you delivered that news to them that they all let out a sigh of relief, immediately becoming hyper with things to do and places to go. Jeremy, Tavish, Spy and Pyro were off to go socialize in a few clubs, while the rest of the team stayed at the base. Medic and Engineer designed more weapons, inventions, and strategies as they usually did when they weren't battling enemies. Misha and Jane left for some form of intense training, leaving you and Mundy doing nothing.

A large chunk of your day was spent with the australian, save for the occasional moments where you had to order more supplies for your team. Staying close by his van, Mundy had been in casual attire, a plain red short sleeve shirt, washed out jeans, along with his signature shades and akubra. Being in a place like Teufort around this time of year made anyone outside beg for winter, so you appropriately dressed for the weather as well. Joining up with your shaggy haired friend, you felt at peace for the first time in 364 days.

"Whot if we went down by the lake, huh? It's noicer there, plenty of shade and cold water?" Mundy suggested, slightly glancing over at you sitting on a boulder not too far from his van. "Yeah, I could go for that." You agreed, joining him in the van, feeling the cool AC against your burning skin.

The pale sand crunched under your shoes as you strolled by the shoreline, the pure blue waves catching your attention. Cotton like clouds floated at the top of the sky with the shining sun, setting the feeling of a real beach. Stretching your arms above your head, you started to fully drink in the beautiful sights.

"See? I knew you'd love it." Mundy proudly said, while resting his arm on the top of your head. "Mhm, it looks perfect." Crouching down, you examined a flat rock, coming up with an idea. Positioning yourself just right, you whipped the rock at the water, watching it skip atop the water 3 times before sinking into the lake. Raising his eyebrows, the mercenary let out a low whistle. "Wow, noice arm ya got there sheila." He complimented you, causing a small blush to form.

"Thanks, why don't you try? Skip a stone, and however many times it doesn't sink, is a wish you can make!" You told him, the wind toying with your hair and the waves. "Hmm, sounds like a deal to me!" The Sniper joined you, picking up a perfect stone, and throwing it at the water. His rock skipped 3 times, a small chuckle coming from him. "Guess I get 3 wishes then, ey?" "Yep!"

Grinning at you, he had a mischievous look on his face, causing you to raise an eyebrow in confusion. "For my first wish," he stepped directly in front of you, inching closer in order to wrap his hands around your waist. "I wantcha to change outta that hot outfit, and get into a swimsuit." With your blush getting worse, his grin simply got wider. "Don't worry love, I got one with me. Figured ya would want one in case."

"Sure, Mundy. Your wish is my command." Stepping away from him, you joking bowed as a butler would do, and hopped into his van. Finally coming across the swimwear he had provided, you swear your blush had gone at least 2 times darker. It was a bikini that you were going to wear, in front of him, for him. Facing your nervousness, you came to terms and put on the swimsuit, looking yourself up and down in mirror before returning. The first thing you saw was your best friend, and crush, with no shirt on. Instinctively covering your eyes out of being shy, you heard the sniper laugh at your reaction.

Your hands were slowly removed from your face, his hands reaching for yours to hold. His expression changed from mischievous to kind, his grin turning into a soft, relaxing smile. "Don't worry love, it's just me. And I've gotta say, you look lovely." Glancing up at him, you returned his smile while holding tightly onto his rough hands. "You're going to make me melt, Mundy." You teased him, releasing his hands and walking over to the shore. You left him wanting more of you to hold, prompting him to follow you quickly.

"The water is perfect to swim in, just watch!" Without warning, you ran closer into the lake, and effectively diving in. Mundy stood still, a bit worried, and a bit unsure of how to react. He gradually went in, the amount of time you had went underwater nearing a minute. Almost about to panic, he left out a breath he didn't know he was holding as he saw you emerge for underwater. "Whoo! I forgot how amazing it is to swim!" You beamed, treading over to your crush. In a wave of joy you jumped at him, grabbing around his waist and tackling you both into the water. As you both went back up, he found you still holding him, his cheeks burning.

"I'm sorry I guess I got too caught in the moment!" You giggled, observing the dazed sniper. Blinking a few times, it took him a couple moments to gather his thoughts. "It's alright, but because that I'm gonna use anotha wish on ya." You tilted your head in confusion, moving a few stray hairs that were stuck to your face. "I wish, for you to let me hold your hands." The red on both of your faces darkened, but nonetheless you had no objections. Gingerly intertwining both of your hands with his own, he rested his forehead against yours. "And my last wish, is if you would be mine, (Y/n)." Your eyes widened in shock, mouth slightly agape from his slight confession. Not needing a second thought, you wrapped your arms around his neck and closed the gap.

Snaking his hands to hold your waist, he attempted to pull you closer, overflowing with want he pressed his lips against yours as much as he could. Mundy had waited so long for this, and couldn't ask for anything more. After going without breathing for so long, you both stopped, only heaving for air and staring into each others' eyes. "Of course, it would be my honor, Mundy." You grinned like a lovesick teenager. "My god I was so lucky when ya came into my life. You're the best thing thats eva happened to me, sheila."

Resting your head against his chest, the butterflies in your stomach went wild with joy as his fingers wove themselves into your hair, accompanied by a loving kiss atop your head. "I couldn't agree more."

The rest of the evening was spent with you and Mundy playing in the water, eventually having a couple other team members going you both in the lake. Overall, you had a great time with the team, and even more so with your newfound lover. And no day would be as amazing as this.
