Imagine Lily talking to Remus after seeing him pushing you and your efforts away
You push past Lily, a flood of tears streaming down your face after another failed attempt to talk to Remus. She looks back at you in pity before furiously storming up to the dark haired boy who sits on the grass with a defeated scowl and an open book.
"What are you doing?" She berates, her hands resting on her hips in an angry, defiant way.
"I'm trying to read." He snaps, shutting his book with a thud. "But people seem to have a habit of interrupting me."
"Why are you shutting her out like this? She really likes you, and you act as though she doesn't exist."
"Come on Lils," he rolls his eyes at her. "We both know that she's only going to get hurt with me, and she isn't stable enough for that."
"I know, Remus. But you should stop beating yourself up and let people take care of you." She says softly. "You say you don't want her to get hurt yet you're only hurting her more treating her like this."
"I know." He says sombrely. "I'm just terrified of what could happen."
