"Really (Y/N)?" he asked blankly.
"Really. "

I was sick of Dallas. Sick of his shit, his lies, his jealousy. We had been playing this game for months now and I finally told him I was done being a part of it. I'll admit, being best friends with Cameron had its perks..crazy parties, new friends, plenty of wonderful nights under the stars - and under the sheets, if you know what i mean. It wasn't easy to just get up and leave him either. I have a love for Dallas that I could never get rid of. We'd both grown up in these parts and I've known him and the gang since we were little. But it was time for me to grow up and he just couldn't understand that. No one could tame him, and everyone knew it.

He put out his cigarette on Nash's dresser and cocked an eyebrow, chuckling to himself as if my words meant nothing.

"You're not leaving me" he mumbled.

"What?"

"You can't escape me (Y/N) and you know it" he smirked.

"Come on, Dallas" I rolled my eyes, arms crossed. "You know I love you, but I can't even be in the same room as a guy without you getting jealous. And all you do is drink, get in fights, and run wild with your friends. I'm over it. Any girl would be!"

"Then you're just like the rest" he sassed. "And you're so perfect? You live in a fantasy land (Y/N), a fucking fantasy. You think you're just gonna wake up one day off at college and your whole life is gonna change? Everything'll be perfect, pretty new mustang, perfect boyfriend in a sweater. Well newsflash princess, it's bullshit. All of that jealousy and owning you around? It's because I fucking love you. None of these scumbags out here could treat you like I do. How can you tell me you love me when you plan to leave all of this shit behind? What about Matt, Nash, Shawn, the gang? You think they don't need you? I need you and it makes me sick. The fact that one person can just walk into my life, drive me insane, make me feel things I haven't felt in years and then just leave me in the dust like I ain't nothing. Oh but that's right, you're too stuck in your own head to give a fuck about anyone but you."
Cameron fumed, stepping closer to me with every word.

"This is who you are and you know it (Y/N). Where we're from, what we do. I may be a piece of shit, but at least I can admit what i am. Cause i'll tell you something doll," he breathed, inches from my face.

"You can go as far away as you want, but you can't run from yourself."

I stood there, dumbfounded. Cameron always knew how to make feel a million miles away. The music pounding under my feet from downstairs brought me back to reality.

He was right. After all, Dallas knew me better than anyone. He was wise beyond his years and that's what made us great together. Running from his past was a mistake he'd made years ago and learned the hard way. I couldn't leave the gang. I couldn't throw everything away that quick. But worst of all, I couldn't lose him. All of these years he'd act untouchable, but i knew in that moment Cameron was weak. Cameron never talked like that, opened up. He never cared about anything. He needed me more than I'd ever need him..or so he thought.

He turned to walk away, spitting in the trash can as he went to open the door with a hard grip.

I grabbed his jacket sleeve quickly, stopping him.

"Don't you dare say I don't fucking love you."

Suddenly, I crashed my lips into his, grabbing his jacket collar to pull him close. It wasn't long before his hands were around my waist tightly. I breathed in his scent, his tongue was warm and wet as he explored all of my mouth, begging for more of me. My heart was pumping a million miles an hour in my chest as my fingers tangled into his dark hair. The room was a thousand degrees. Dallas and I had kissed plenty of times, but this felt different. I felt intimate with him like never before.
