She was a stranger in a very strange land...

She was a stranger in a very strange land. Everyone seemed to be either 10 foot giants or 3 foot dwarves. It didn't make any sense to her. How did she even get there? Well... that might have been something to do with the magic spell that they used with the ancient alter she stood upon. They were suppose to summon an enchantress that would be able to rid the land of the evil creatures that were taking it over. But this woman standing in front of them wasn't exactly someone who looked like an enchantress.

The woman looked around the cave that everyone has crammed into. There wasn't an easy way to the exit. She looked behind her and saw nothing for her to hide behind except for the alter that she stood upon. She quickly stepped down off of the stone and knelt behind it. Everyone had started whispering. She could hear the voices of strong males and gentle females. She wondered was exactly was going on and how she could get back to her world. The world of normal people who had desk jobs and internet and stuff like that.

"Excuse me?" A light voice said from in front of her. She was so focus on panicking that she pretty much ended up in her own little world. The woman looked up at the voice and found one of the giants crouching in front of her, a female with long ratted brown hair with red and orange beads braided into it. The giant wore torn fabrics that barely covered her. The large female was showing a giant amount of skin. "My name is Alem. May I know your name?" Alem offered her a hand, whether she wanted to shake hands or was offering to help her off the ground, the smaller woman didn't know... But she was going to find out.

"I'm Kathrine." She took the giant's hand and was helped off of the ground to stand in front of the whole parade of individuals still standing and blocking the way out of the cave, but that was okay. Kathrine was going to try and take this one step at a time, rather than just run and hope she didn't get killed. The giant woman held her hand, like one would hold a child's hand and walked Kathrine over to her group.

Alem took her free hand and placed it on another giant's shoulder. "This is my husband, Croom." The male giant, Croom, smiled at Kathrine. The man didn't show any of his teeth. He simply pressed his lips together at her. It was barely a smile at all, but Kathrine appreciated the gesture. "We are what is left of the one vast civilization that ruled over this land, but an evil sorcerer cast a spell over the land and cursed it. Now, the sun does not shine, food is scarce and every body of water has evaporated." Kathrine swallowed.

"That sounds awful." She stated bluntly.

"It is." Croom said with a deep voice. "This was our last attempt to regain control over this land." He gestured to the alter and spell. "Will you help us take back our land?" He looked down at Kathrine and she felt even smaller than she actually was, but she stood up tall, looking him in the eyes.

"I will try all I can."
