Chapter One: New beginnings

 Lapis' POV

NRR NRR NRR NRR. I slowly awoke by the blaring alarm clock. "WHY!" I shouted not wanting to wake up. After a minute of trying to fall back asleep I got out of bed and started getting nervous for my first year of high school, im a freshman now. I got my clothes off the bathroom counter and put them on after taking the dirty ones off and putting on deodorant. I brushed through my blue hair and took my antidepressants, then I just brushed my teeth and left the bathroom , then slid downstairs. I ate breakfast gave my mom a kiss and left. "Lets not get mocked today Lapis" I said to myself.

Peridot's POV

I walked into the school looking at the architecture in awe I looked for my friends, until I finally found them. "Amethyst, Pearl, Ruby, Sapphire!" I shouted at the GAY GANG.  "P-dot how are ya?!" Amethyst said excitedly. Amethyst is my best friend, shes always been there for me."Nothin im just trying to figure out how to program this new robonoid."  I said with a little frustration, but im close to coding it. "HUH NERD!!!!!!"she said."Shut the fu-" "Peridot!" bird mom squawk at me. "lets go to class already" I said, there was an awkward silence."What are your guys' classes" we all looked down at our schedules then looked up and separated.

-5 minutes later-

"Room 20, room 23, room 28, room 47. ........." I was all focused on looking down at my schedule and looking back up at the room numbers when, I well...  CRASH " OH MY GOD IM SO SORRY!" she said to me. I crashed into a girl."I-its ok" I said with embarrassment embedded in my voice. " hi my names Lapis, Lapis Lazuli" she said "hi my names peridot, im sorry I wasn't paying any attention!"I  said " its ok im heading to my first class uh, its room 49?" she said looking down at her schedule. " oh uh same wanna walk to class together?" I said still embarrassed about the accident. "sure why not?"

-another time skip :D 6 minutes later-

we got to the classroom and sat next to each other. I noticed as class started she pulled a mini sketch book out and started drawing  two beautiful birds, then she pulled out two pastels ,green and blue, and colored the bigger bird blue, then the small one green. My attention went back to the teacher and noticed he said that he wants us to write down notes and that he would check our papers for the notes. My attention went on lapis, she didn't notice what he said, so after that I took notes, and then took notes for lapis.Soon after he started checking the papers for the notes, thats when I put the notes on her desk " I noticed you weren't paying attention so I wrote down notes for you so you dont get into  trouble." I said fast. "thanks nerd " she said as she smiled. " no problemo"I said. The teacher got over to us and looked at lapis' notes and then mine and gave a simple smiled and gave each of us a thumbs up.

-Le time skip 3 hours later-

Lapis' POV

In some sick twist of fate Peridot has been in each and every class im in so far. I've kinda been awkward due to the fact this is my first year in a place I dont know, without anyone I know, so its kinda hard for me to just up and pack. For some weird reason its nice to know I have the short girl peridot I met today to be my friend. "Lapis, Lapis, LAPIS!" I fell out of my chair " Lapis class ended 8 minutes ago we need to leave.." was I really that lost in thought? "yeah, um sorry lets go...." I said hesitantly, while picking my stuff up and leaving with her. Great first day lapis, great.

we arrived at the lunch period shortly after. I picked a quiet table at the far back while I watched peridot go meet up with some of her friends. I didnt bring lunch and I dont have lunch money so I pulled my sketchbook out and started drawing, letting my pencil lead me. half way in I didn't even notice peridot looking at it over my shoulder till she complimented it. " hey Lapis want to sit with me and my friends, we have an extra seat if you want too." I felt happy by the offer, so I kindly accepted. A little nervous to meet her friends I slowly trotted over and and awkwardly sat down. They stared at me then back at Peridot. " who is this Peridot?" the strawberry haired girl said in confusion. " everyone this is Lapis, Lapis that is Amethyst, Pearl, Sapphire, and Ruby." she said pointing at each and everyone of them. "hello" I said trying to prevent any future awkward silences. "Hey the girl named Amethyst said.

-Le nother time eh skip-

I looked up at the clock. 2:57. Yes  the bell rang and as everyone flocked out I stopped peridot and wrote my number down on a piece of paper and gave her the telephone sign and walked out of class. She gave a small and quick smile. Finally I can go home now, weird first day but hay im not complaining. 

woo 908 words before this little summary, ok so I know this is cliche but hey, I always wanted to work on my own cliche story. btw this is my first fanfic. Im trying to upload one of these chapter every month, they will be a tad shorter than this chapter. sorry for any spelling errors in this fic. Hope you enjoyed !
