A few months later

Afrah dropped the piece of paper to the floor.

It lay, fluttering softly as she sat down heavily on the couch. She thought she wouldn't feel sad. She thought she didn't care.

To whomever it may concern

Your sister was happy when she died. She died, surrounded by the kids she loved to help. She died in their love and their comfort and she was so proud of them.

Comfort yourself in knowing that she found happiness in her God towards the end. When she died, she died remembering him. We buried her in the Muslim cemetary near the school. The kids visit her once a week and think about her often.

I am truly sorry for your loss.

Yours sincerely,

Evangeline Thando Nakampe

She was wrong.
