"Alright Selena, I need you to explain to me your symptoms one last time." the nurse, Ms. Lorenzo—everyone calls her Nurse L—, requested, as she put a blood pressure cuff on my arm.

"I have a headache, I'm nauseous, and everything just seems sore." I briefly explain, almost scared that taking about how I was feeling would make it worse.

She nods, before taking the cuff off and asking that I lie down on the examination table. Nurse L lifted up my top, before feeling my around my stomach—of course in that very moment I decide that I'm a doctor and diagnose myself with appendicitis which quickly shifts to cancer and then I'm panicking because I'm going to die and I'm too young to die.

"Selena, you're stomach is a little tender," oh no "I'm going to ask you a question that may make you feel uncomfortable, but I feel it is necessary. Is that fine with you?"

I nod my head too nervous to respond.

I was "too" a lot of things.

"When was the last time you had your period?"

My heart dropped, the second the question left her mouth and I began to count back.

Oh shit.

"Six weeks ago." how could I have been so late and not realized it.

She nodded her head understandably,  turning to a drawer at her desk across the room. She walked back to me with a box in her hand.

"I'm not supposed to give you this, but I understand that this is scary and you don't want to make an appointment for no reason." Nurse L hands me the box and points to the door leading to her private bathroom.

Jesus, people are dramatic.

It was odd how three students had already run out of the class, for seemingly the stupidest reasons.

But her exit seemed the strangest, our conversation hadn't been anything out of the ordinary—it had been our foreplay the majority of summer— we banter, it's our thing.

Then one of her friends ran after her. What the fuck?

In my thought fog—because that's what it was a blinding fog, that was all consuming— I noticed that Scott and Fredo were in the back corner of the class having a conversation amongst themselves.

I nod my head in greeting, when they turn their attention to me.

"What was all that about?" I asked, see as though I had only caught the second half of Selena's outburst.

"Selena had her 'don't fuck with me' face on and Chatty Cathy didn't take the warning." Fredo was quick to explain, excited about the drama, I swear he's such a girl sometimes.

"Chatty Cathy?" Scott mocked him, earning a shove.

"Did she seem off to you guys?" I didn't realize I had said the question out loud, until I saw the reaction on their faces.

"I thought you didn't catch feelings." Scott swiftly pounced on my one moment of strange reaction.

"Yeah, Mr. 'I get my dick wet, not my heart soft.'" Fredo added on.

"I haven't caught feelings, I just think that she acted so rash. I mean no matter how pissy you get, it doesn't mean you just snap." I tried reason, but didn't know if I was doing so for myself or them.

"Maybe it's her time of the month." Fredo threw out the option.

"Maybe." I conceited, however, I still felt that something was off.

I had been chilling out the whole period, joking around with Scott and Fredo, almost forgetting about Selena—almost being the key word—, when the door busted open a very angry Selena waking through the door flanked by her closest friends

I had been chilling out the whole period, joking around with Scott and Fredo, almost forgetting about Selena—almost being the key word—, when the door busted open a very angry Selena waking through the door flanked by her closest friends.

"Selena, can you just tell us why you want to kill him suddenly, "one of her friends, the blonde one, tried to calm her down.

She didn't answer, instead she made a motion as if she was going to move forward towards me.

Her other friend, blocked her, grabbing on to her arm. Selena's head snapped to where they made contact.

"Demi you really don't want to touch me right now." her voice was closer to a growl than actual words. Her friend knew that she fucked up— one look from Selena and she was frozen.

After a few moments of tense silence, Selena turned to me, pointing her finger at me "You," she swallowed down, "you bastard." her words were lethal, they even stopped me from replying.

She lowered her arm that she had pointed at me and shifted it to the side signifying for her blonde friend to give her something—my whole life flashed before my eyes, because of my mind she was requesting the weapon she was going to use to kill me. Instead, her friend gave her a water bottle.

Huh?

"Okay I've heard that both of you were trouble, so just take it outside and I'll finish class." Mr.Richards spoke up, finally someone who worked in this school who had common sense.

I go to get up, hearing rustling behind me.

"Only the two of you." the teacher once again spoke, causing both Scott and Fredo to grumble behind me.

I knew I was walking to me doom, when Selena didn't take her eyes off me and me walk before her.

"What did I do now?" I figured if we just what ever she's blaming me for out the way, I would leave the conversation with a pulse.

"What did you do? Are you serious?" she was pissed, I obviously made the wrong choice, by choosing to speak first.

She pulled something from her back pocket, it was wrapped in a napkin. Selena handed it to be.

Seriously. What the fuck is going on?

I begin to unwrap the napkin, finding a white stick.

One line. Not pregnant.

Two lines. Pregnant.

I squinted my eyes at the little window for the results, my mouth going dry.

I turned my body, hoping that the shift in light would change the result.

Holy Shit.

"Are you," Selena interrupted me before I could finish my question.

"Sure? As sure as three test can be." was her response. I understood why she was so pissed now.

How could we have been stupid enough to let this happen?

"I-I don't know what to say." was all I could get out.

"Well then that makes two of us."
