Hellfire

There's a fireplace in the common room of the Tower/your evil lair. It's usually lit in winter or when the place is particularly cold. It gives off a beautiful orange glow and makes the place a bit more homey, which usually results in you spending time with the others watching movies by it.

It's a particularly bitter winter and every day so far the fire has been lit. Everyone was seeing it as a normal and pleasant experience. But one day, whilst staring at the flame, you see the tips of the embers are tinged black. The days pass and the flames grow blacker and blacker. But it appears you're the only one seeing it.

What do you do?
