Jasper's (p.o.v)
I was alone, the ocean air hit my nose, I did not want to be here at all. But as much as that was true it was the only place I felt safe for now. The war was finally over, Steven and the crystal gems wanted me to join there team after helping them fight the final days of the war but I denied them. It was because I couldn't do it anymore, seeing reflections of my actions from my past with fighting them, being how ruthless I was and still am to a point . It caused me to be where I am now, where was is? A alley way between buildings I leaned against a trash can and rubbed my gem, I cracked it after having a confrontation with Lapis, she was mad at me for all the things I did in the past, I didn't react in anyway while she beat and took all her anger out on me. I deserved everything I got, I shivered and my form began to glitch again "I deserve this" I kept saying over and over to myself.
"Hey you okay..?" My head whipped around to face a human female, her green eyes pouring down at me in worry "go away, am a danger" she flinched backwards "your hurt let me help you" she inched forward again and I teared up and glitched again "come I have a home you can stay in, its way to cold for you to stay here" she spoke, small breathes of cold air coming out of her "it's okay" she extended her hand out towards me and I took it. I towered over the small human "wow your tall" she faintly smiled "this way" she walks guiding me with our locked hands.
We walked for a few moments before we showed up to a small house which faced the city, I looked around, it was nice and the distance from all the noise and crowed builds was comforting, I looked back down at the human as she unlocked the house, she entered in first then I did "here sit" she pointed to what they called a "sofa" I didn't quite understand human terms yet. I sat down and winced in pain "your gem, it's cracked" she tried reached out, I grabbed her hand before she could touch me, she looked shocked, "am sorry" I let go and looked down ashamed "it's okay" she lifted my head up "am a nurse in training" she spoke softly while touching my gem. "Steven told me all about gems and stuff and gave me some sort of healing water for my patients, but I don't think that's legal for me to do that" she laughed, for some reason I trusted her intentions of healing me, she poured the water from a small bottle onto her hands and then gently rubbed the water on my gem. "It's from roses tears, she was a gem with healing powers" I said correcting her, "ah okay" she smiled gently at me.
My gem healed and the glitching has stoped "feel better?" She asked lifting my hair up "thanks , I can leave now" I got up and began to walk to the door "no no it's way to cold for you to go out there" , "plus there's a blizzard about to hit the city" she added grabbing my hand, I sighed "I don't want to ruin anything" I said looking at the door "you haven't yet so I don't see any troubles in you staying" she says pulling me back to the sofa "you must be hungry" she scrambled into the kitchen and pulled at can of what they call soup "I don't really need to eat" I said smiling faintly "please it would be my pleasure" she says then giggles "plus I'd rather you have my food then amethyst, she always comes and eats everything".
A few hours past and I saw her drift to sleep "what's your name? " I asked her trying to ask her at least one question from her before she slept "Marine, and you?" She smiled "Jasper"
