Tiberius sat outside his father's temple with an annoyed expression on his face. His dark green eyes he scanned the light blue sky with a resigned sort of malice, and the sandy marble steps whined as he tapped his foot impatiently with much more force than needed. Heels could be heard hastily tapping against the said marble, as if the person wearing them was in a hurry. Tiberius didn't move as a blue silk dress came into his line of sight and black six inch heels of his mother stopped at the top step. He turned his head to look up at her from where he sat with emotionless eyes. Minerva stood in front of him with a soft expression adorning the gentler features she couldn't have gotten from her father.
"Your father sent a messenger, Enki, saying that you haven't been behaving yourself."
Tiberius just stared blankly at the steps of the temple, little interest apparent in his eyes. Minerva crouched down and set her arms in her lap. The untied braids of her long black hair curled along the sides of her head, only to fall into loose curls down her shoulders.
Tiberius finally brought eye contact into the equation, trying to gauge her reaction to the situation. She didn't seem at all mad, but she didn't seem happy with him, wither. She almost looked disappointed, and with that instant realization he felt a slight pang in his heart. Only his mother could make him feel guilty about his actions. His father could get banished down to the mortal realm and he would drink in celebration.
"What is wrong my child?" Concern laced her voice, and dripped into his heart. Tiberius sighed wishing he could leave for somewhere, anywhere other than where he was.
"Nothing," he stated dryly as he pushed himself up onto his feet. He started to walk in a random direction with no place in mind. He just didn't want to be bothered. Perhaps he could go visit a brothel, if he was leaving. But the thought quickly fled his mind as he thought back to his lover, Inanna. She was a beautiful goddess, one he was very taken with. She was strong yet compassionate for the mortals most of them hated- rightfully so, but the fact still stood.
"Where do you think you're going?" Minerva asked, and he could feel her eyebrow raise without even looking at her.
"Somewhere neither you nor father can bother me," he muttered with a roll of his eyes. Sure, he acted like a broody teenager, but he was damn good at it.
"I don't think so. You're coming back to Olympus with me," Minerva lilted, a smirk gracing her soft lips. It sounded so delicate and almost desirable when she said it, but going to Olympus was a bad idea for him. The Gods on that mountain did not care for his tricks or antics. Especially not their king, Jupiter. He had messed with that god one too many times.
"Mother," he whined. He immediately regretted it as he looked to see her expression. She looked slightly ticked, the sudden soft mommy got replaced with 'I'll fillet your ass, son'.
"You're coming with me, do not talk back to your mother." Her words were laced with a light threat as she walked to her son patiently. Even though she wore heels she still wasn't as tall as Tiberius. Standing tall at 6'7, he towered over her current 6'2 height. However, even with the obvious height difference, you could tell who was in charge. Minerva wasn't taking any shit from her own son. She held out her hand palm up, as she waited for Tiberius to obey her silent command. To anyone observing, it would look like a calm invitation, but Tiberius knew better. It was an order.
Tiberius grumbled curses under his breath in Sumerian but obeyed quietly as he laid his larger hand in her delicate one. Before he could blink, dark smoke enveloped him in a comforting warmth as they were transported to Mount Olympus. They appeared just outside the throne room, where shouting could be heard from multiple Gods; muted though it was by the large metal doors embroidered in dark green and shining gold spirals. The doors stood ten feet tall, gold-encrusted handle rings on each. What really tied it together was the little sign on the door that read: "Stay the fuck out". It sounded like something Mars would write as a joke. Minerva looked to her son with an encouraging smile to replace her deadly protective mother look.
