"So, Yanyu suggested we should sing a love song," I said, trying to look for a song in the music room.

Yanchen yawned, "I thought we were going to eat some ice cream."

"No!" I exclaimed. "I am not going to risk my throat. I'd rather get hit by a bus than get humiliated in front of Zhang Yixing."

"Why are you so intent on having a perfect stage? Just enjoying it would be nice. I'm sure that Yixing guy doesn't mind,"

"You don't know him like I do,"

He walked towards me and leaned on the table, "Does he know you?"

My pupils started shaking, "W-well, I -"

Yanchen backed away, "Well, since I offered to help might as well follow whatever you want to do. Besides, I'm only doing this because of my ex-girlfriend."

"Yeah, yeah. We've heard it like a million times already,"

He nods, "Now, what piece do you wanna sing?"

.·:*¨¨*:·. .·:*¨¨*:·.

"Are you serious about singing a duet with Zhou Yanchen?" Bangbang asks as we walked out of school.

I shrugged, "It's not that bad. Besides, I just found out there's a prize."

"Money?"

I nod, patting his head. "You catch on fast."

"But I'm telling. Just be careful around him," He muttered, walking ahead of me.

I frowned, "You kept saying that but you don't actually tell me why I need to be careful of him."

Bangbang stopped in his tracks when he saw a familiar guy slumped on a tree. "I think your mom's here."

"Qin Zimo!" I screamed, catching his attention. "Didn't I tell you I can walk myself home?"

Zimo walked towards me as he slowly wore the glasses my brother lent him. "I told you, if something bad happens to you, I'm the one to blame. Now let's go."

I faced Bangbang, "Sorry Bang. I need to go now,"

Bangbang nods and waved a hand at me, "I'll see you tomorrow!"

Zimo and I started walking home, only stopping to buy some street foods we found along the way.

"Oh, you're home early," Han Mubo greeted us from the kitchen.

I lied down on the couch, pushing Peiyao down the floor, "Your son waited for me at the gates,"

"Hey, I was there first," Peiyao argued, holding a pillow.

"Don't you guys have your own house? I swear, you live here more than my brother does," I said, sitting up so Peiyao could sit.

"When is he coming home by the way?" Zuo Ye who was on the threadmill asked.

"Yeah, does he know your joining the talent show?" Zimo adds.

I shrugged, putting a pillow on Peiyao's lap so I could lie down, "I texted him though he hasn't replied yet."

This is what I like about my brother's friends because they all treat me like I'm their little sister. Except for Zuo Ye, he's my little brother.

There were no awkward phases between all of us and out of all my friends, they're one of those people I'm really comfortable with.

When our parents died, my brother was 16. He had to work a couple of jobs just so we can earn the money. I'm glad that Mubo gege and the others had his back or else we would've been goners.

"Mingzhu, you sure you're okay staying the night alone?" Mubo asked, as soon as we finished dinner.

I nodded, "Zimo's just across the street anyway. I could just call him anytime."

"Yeah, about that, I'm staying," Zimo said while brushing his teeth. "I left my keys in the house and no one's home."

I widen my eyes as I looked at Mubo for help, he just nodded and said, "Well, I think it's a good thing. You have someone to keep you company."

Qin Zimo, you are so dead.
