The beginning of the end

I would like to say that the night I met her was extraordinary. That sparks quite literally flew above us when I first laid my eyes upon her. That the moment I saw her, it was love at first sight. That I immediately started to swoon. Looking back, a part of me wishes that that was how it all started. The other part knows better I suppose. All I can honestly say is that I wish I hadn't gone to the party. Maybe if I had decided that it would have been better to stay home and read the entirety of a novel, like I normally do on a Friday night, instead of going out, none of this would have happened. Maybe it was fate or destiny, or whatever they tell you when you lose something you love dearly. Let it be known that I do not blame the party itself. Actually, I had an amazing time. It was truly a one of a kind experience. It was the start of something magical and wondrous and heavenly. However, it was also the beginning of something that brought the world as I knew it to its knees. That is not the party's fault. It's hers.
