I woke up in a dark, damp and cold cellar. How did I know it was a cellar? It smelt of blood and urine. The dusty floor I was sitting on was as cool as a stone. I could feel the chilly air. I can hear the dripping of water in the near distance.

I remember talking to Chris and then nothing. I don't remember what I was talking to him about. Or if that conversation was even real. Was I kidnapped from my bed? Oh god, I hear footsteps. Loud and obnoxious thumping sounded from the rickidy old steps.

"Ah, you are finally awake," a nasily, nails on the chalk board, voice called out three feet away from where I sat.

"Who are you?" I croaked out.

"Why darling, I am a hunter. I hunt down and kill people like you. You are next up, but Chad was right. You look a lot like Ms. Blare Crest," the voice replied with a hint of confusion.

"Blare is my great great great grandmother on my mother's side. What do you mean by 'people like me'?" I questioned.

"Elementals of course! You are mistakes. Abominations to this universe, what else do you think I was talking about darling?" mystery man questioned.

"First of all I call bullshit. Second of all I am tired of being man handled around. I am not some object. So stop fucking handling me as if I was not human," I replied exasperated.

"You are not human darling. Deal with it. Now boss wants to see you," dummy said before knocking me out to drag me who knows where.

I am getting so tired of being knocked out. These people keep talking nonesense. They knock me out and then talk nonesense. Why? Because these people are insane! Wildly crazy!

"Jerome, I told you not to bring her. We have no clue what she is capable of. If she slept she could knock us out. Do you even know what kind of Elemental she is? No you do not! She is a rare and powerful being just like Blare. Her fear can kill us alone," a voice shouted.

"But boss! She seems harmless and I got her when she was alone!" Dummy replied.

Ugh! Can I ever just get a break? Is it even the same day? I just wanna sleep. Why does this happen to me?

"You're awake," the unknown voice said.

"Way to point out the obvious captain. What day is it?" I said in a bored tone.

"It is May 19th. You have been out for two days now," the voice replied.

"Okay then, night," I replied sleepily.

Next thing I knew I was in a dark void just floating. Well this is pleasant. I thought. Why is my life so hard? I blame you great great great grandmother. The life I live now is all your fault.

"You shouldn't be afraid. Learn to harness and control your powers. No one else can save you from you drowning but yourself."

"Granny Blare! Where did you come from?"

"I heard your mental plea for help. Now do you feel that humming?

"What humming?"

"The humming that is reverberating through your bones. The humming that strums the strings to your heart."

"Yes. But what does that got to do with the situation I am in?"

"It is your power you hold within calling out to you. You've been kidnapped my child by dangerous hunters. You cannot die now. Not until you fulfill what I couldn't do. You are the reincarnation of me. Shadow elementals are very very powerful beings. We rarely exist now because of the hunters. They killed us because of the fear they hold against us.

I was a child when it started. There used to be about two billion shadow elementals walking among the Earth. Now? There is only you. I was the last one to survive. I was able to give birth to your great great grandmother. But she was only passed a little bit of my power. Now two hundred and eleven years later comes you my child. You have yet to come of age. But when you do listen to your protector. Learn and fight. Now go my child!"

I woke up with a start. I look around. What I saw horrified me. Jerome was decapitated near the open door and Chad was strung up as if he had hung himself. There was banging on the front door. I went down the stairs and rushed to the door. When I opened my eyes I was in shock.

There stood my father and Chris. Dad had messy hair and bags under his eyes. However, Chris sported a much worse look. When they saw it was me only dad scurried past to check the home and Chris scooped me up into his arms and just broke down completely. Dad came back out and joined the hugging session.

"Jeez! You guys make it seem like I was gone for forever," I tried to joke.

"Princess, you were missing for a year. Today is your eighteenth birthday. You need to come with us and we'll tell you everything," my father said as we walked out to the car.
