Eventually, the three came accross a small store. Once Ellie had looked a bit closer, she noticed a large hole in the main window at the front of it.
Ellie: Fuck. It's been raided already.
Nova: I told you it would have already been raided, Nicholas.
Nick: Maybe there's still some supplies left.
Ellie rolled her eyes at Nova screaming at Nick again. They walked closer to it until they were close enough to see the shelves. To their surprise, the shelves did have supplies left. Not a lot. But it was better than none.
Nick: There's still some.
Nova: Yeah but not enough to keep us going more than a week.
Ellie: If we're still alive in a week.
Nova: Don't say that. We will be.
The group carefully walked in through the rather large hole in the window. They were extremely cautious about the glass all over the floor on the inside of the store.
Nick: So, who's brought a bag to put all this shit in?
The three of them all stared at each other with faces as pale as ever.
Nova: Oh.
Ellie: Nobody, apparently. But I know where we might be able to find one.
Ellie walked behind the counter and crouched down. To her delight there were about sixty paper carrier bags. She picked a a few of them up and placed them on the counter. She folded the rest up and stuffed them in her back pocket.
Ellie: Perfect.
Nick: I don't think I've ever been so excited to see paper bags.
Ellie: Right. I'm going over here. You two, search and pick up things in seperate places so we get a wider range of supplies.
The three of them all searched in seperate places. Ellie had managed to find six cans of various foods. Nova found three bottles of water and a can of peas. Last of all, Nick scavenged a water bottle and two cans of food.
Ellie: That's awesome. Good job, guys.
Suddenly, a loud beeping sound filled their eardrums. Each one of them slapped their hands against their ears, trying their hardest to block out the screeching sound.
Ellie: Lets go!
They all began to evacuate the shop and get out before the infected came. Each one of them scurried down the road as fast as they could, holding on to their supplies and weapons. They stopped running as soon as they finally reached the dark and gloomy forest which they had to go through in order to get back to the camp. Their hearts were beating incredibly fast and their breath was uncontrollable.
Ellie: We're so lucky we got out of that.
Nick: I know!
Nova: Never... again.
By this time, there was not a light in the sky. The only thing that was glistening was the moon. They all began to walk slowly whilst trying to maintain their breathing and slow down their heart rate. Their walking lasted for about five minutes which meant that their camp was about ten minutes away.
Nick: Hey, look!
Nick stopped the group from walking by pointing into the sky at the full moon shining in the dark. They all looked at the moon and smiled at it's beauty.
Nick: You know what... at least the moon hasn't lost it's humanity.
Ellie: That's one thing to be happy about.
Nova: I guess.
