Del's POV:

I walk into the coffee shop across the street from my apartment building, like I do every Saturday and Sunday morning. I go in and order my regular. The barista doesn't even ask what I'm getting or my name anymore. I've come in here every Saturday and Sunday morning at exactly 8:03 for the past year or so. Coffee calms me down for whatever reason. Most people it make more hyper because of the caffeine but I'm different, I guess you could say I'm immune to caffeine. That's a funny way to put it. As I walk over to my normal table a guy catches my eyes. He's kinda cute. The way his whole face lights up when he laughs, and how his cheeks are always red, kind of reminds me of a child. He looks up from his conversation with whom I assume are his friends and notices me looking at him. I dart over to my table and hide my face.
"Del!" The barista yells.
"Zach!" I hear be called after my name.
I go up the counter to get my drink and I'm faced by none other than the boy I was staring at earlier. Zach hmm? It fits him nicely.
"So, I saw you staring at me earlier..." He says making me blush.
"Oh, I-sorry, I kinda zone out sometimes."
"Hmm, interesting because I could have sworn as soon as I lifted my head up and saw you, you ran off." He teases.
"Well I-uh, sorry."
"No need to be sorry, I mean there's a lot to look at." He jokes as he 'flexes' his very skinny arms.
I laugh lightly. It's been a while since someone has actually made me laugh. "So, since you're obviously interested in this hot tamale, any chance I could get your number?"
Is it possible that I like this kid already? He's funny. His personality is something I don't think I've ever encountered in a guy. He's cocky but in a joking way. He really seems humble and down to Earth. But how would I know? I've known this kid for a total of thirty seconds.
"Yeah, sure."
"Really?" He asks.
"Yeah, you're pretty cute and you seem funny." I admit. He chuckles lightly.
"Thanks...Del, I assume."
"You assumed correctly."
Zach hands me his phone which I put my phone number in. I make my contact and hand him his phone back.
"Well, it was real nice meeting you Del."
"I could say the same Zachary." I say with a smile.
