When the bell rang, I pushed past the maze of students and grabbed Damian's hand. Pulling him towards an empty classroom, I pushed him into the room before shutting the door behind me.
"That wasn't funny." I shot. I was annoyed, but mainly embarrassed. But I sure as hell wasn't going to let him know that.
"Really Angel? I thought it was hilarious. Are you okay though, you hit the breaks pretty hard." He shot back, a laugh escaping his lips. I rolled my eyes.
"Don't get your hopes up. I was just shocked to see you were in my neighborhood. And don't call me Angel, my name is Alex." I crossed my arms.
He took a step closer, and I took a step back. He was intimidating, I wasn't going to lie. He was still wearing black. Black jeans, black shirt. His tattoos trailed around his muscular arms, disappearing underneath the sleeves of his shirt.
"I know your name. But Angel fits you better, don't you think?" He raised a hand to brush a loose strand of hair from my face; his hand lingering on my face for a moment longer.
The feel of his fingertip on my cheek left a trail of fire. Indescribable warmth spread throughout my body, and it wouldn't surprise me if my skin heated underneath his finger on my warm cheeks.
I looked into his eyes. They were still a shining grey, but they held a darkness to them. Deep inside he wasn't what he showed himself to be. He had secrets. He had feelings.
He dropped his hand from my face, sighing in defeat. I wanted to grab his hand and pull it back to me, but I shook off the urge instead.
"Come by my house today. I'm sure my parents would love to meet someone from the neighborhood." He took a step back and shoved his hands into his pockets.
I nodded my head. I wanted to play it cool, but on the inside, I was screaming. "What time?" I asked, choking slightly on my words.
He reached his hand towards me and I stiffened. But the sound of the door opening next to me made me realize he wasn't touching me at all. Disappointment ran through me.
"Be there at six." He began to walk past me, but stopped right beside me instead. Leaning towards me, his lips touched the tip of my ear. "Dress nice" His warm breath hit the sensitive spot under my ear and I tried not to shiver.
He sent me one last grin before shutting the door behind me. Leaving me alone with only my thoughts.
My very confused thoughts.
