I clapped along with the growing crowd as Charles drank his way to victory and when he was done i cheered. Both of us pulled him into a hug.
"We're so proud of you" if it wasn't for the 2 year age difference we could have been twins half the time.
"Thank you. Uh, I need another drink and you two need another cola" we nodded and sat down as he made his way to the bar. But was stopped by a woman.
"Oh here we go again." I rolled my eyes as he drunkenly talked to a auburn haired woman

"The advent of the nuclear age may have accelerated the mutation process." I listen intently to Charles as I sat with Raven inside CIA headquarters in Virginia. He has been asked to help Moira MacTaggert "Individuals with extraordinary abilities may already be among us. Thank you very much." he sat back down next to me
"MacTaggert you really think that some crackpot scientist is gonna make me believe in sparking dames and vanishing men?" i became angered and the wind bustled outside Charles put his hand on my shoulder
"relax Pippa don't take what he says to heart."
"You've just earned yourself a one way ticket back to the typing pool. This meeting is over"
"Please sit down Agent Mac Taggert. I didn't expect you really to believe me given all that you could think about during my presentation was what sort of pie they were serving in the commissary. It's apple pecan." i smiled
"I haven't been entirely honest with you love. I'm sorry. You see one of the many spectacular things my mutation allows me to do is that i can read your mind."
"I've seen this before in a magic show. Are you gonna ask us to think of a number between one and 10 now?"
"No Agent Stryker. Although, i could ask you about your son William who you were thinking about, which is very nice. But i think i would rather ask you about the Jupiter missiles America are currently placing in Turkey."
"He's a goddamn spy. You brought a goddamned spy into this facility!" boss man yelled and there was arguing Raven and i stood up showing our gifts i raising everything into the air. Everyone one was shocked then Raven turned back into herself. I lowered everything gently back down.
"How's that for a magic trick."
"Best I've ever seen" a man from the back commented
"I want them out of here. And locked down until i figure out what to do." boss man said
"My facility is off site" the man at the back stated
"I'll take them" We were lead out into the parking garage.
"I've always know there were people like you out there. I've been the laughing stock of this agency for years, but i knew it! You are going to love my facility"
"That's going to have to wait" Charles stated and i knew he had something going on
"Why?"
"Agent MacTaggert has a lead on Sebastian Shaw, and if we don't move now we're going to lose him" just them Agent MacTaggert
"Not only can he read minds but he can communicate with them as well" Rave stated opening the car door and we got in.
"Moira and i just had a lovely conversation."
"Yes we did" she confirmed and Charles chuckled
"That is incredible"
"But i can't take you anywhere else without permission from upstairs."
"Would you like to see one more magic trick."
"okay"
"Get in the car"
"Good idea" i was crammed in the middle but the contact allowed me to look into the Agents past i saw everything and i knew he was a good guy.
"Philippa Holmes"
"she speaks?" he asked and Charles chuckled
"Not only does Pippa manipulate the elements but she can read people through touch. She must have read you and known you were okay." i smiled at him.
"We can use a ship from the coast guard."
"I presume I'm coming right" i stated
"No you will be staying with Raven.
"why! Charles i am not a child i am 22 and can be much more use that you telepathy. In case it's slipped your mind but i control elements i. e water i.e you need my help."
"I am not putting you in harm's way Philippa. That is the end of it" i growled and slammed my back.
"For god's sake Pippa calm yourself or you'll bring a Tsunami down on Virginia" Charles deadpanned as torrential rain
"Piss off Charles" the air in the car became overwhelming as we were dropped off at a hotel.
"Pippa, relax" Raven stopped me
"Who does he think he is my father, controlling us we're adults guh he just frustrates me." she hugs me and rubs my back willing me to calm myself. Finally i return the hug.
Later that night Charles comes back with another man.
"Girls this is Erik Lensherr. Erik this is Phillipa and Raven." he nodded to us and i held out my hand.
"What?"
"This is how she determines whether you can be trusted. It's one of her gifts to see peoples past to determine whether you can be trusted" he didn't move but i snatched his hand and he gasped as i looked through. The pain of the war and what he had been through made me pity him. I dropped his hand
"So angry at the world, will bring nothing but trouble. Other than that you're okay i guess. You on the other hand can piss off" i turned around and left.
