AN: Hello, and welcome to the first chaper of my new book series, Spectrum Wars~! I hope you have as much fun reading this as I had writing it, and I do hope you'll comment, it'll really make my day and get me out of the slump I'm in! Also, just some warnings; gay characters-and straight alike-, a bit of violence, caste systems, magic, witches, angels, many more magical creatures, etc, etc; please don't read if you're not okay with such things, it'll make you're day better as well as mine, okay? But yes, thank you for taking time to read it and I hope you enjoy, and please, if you notice any grammar mistakes, a sentence sounds iffy, or any other error, please let me know! Now, onto the story, have fun~!

'Was this how his fate was meant to replay? Forever running in circles for the boy he cherished?' He was falling, he didn't know where he was falling, but he knew he would never hit the water, ground, or whatever waited below for him. He would never stop falling into the abyss of his sub-consciousness.

'I should just give up. He's just going to go off and marry Lilly of Evangeline or even some girl we don't even know.' And then it was over and the barrier that kept him in limbo shattered into a million pieces and he knew it couldn't ever be repaired.

Carcino blinked, the familiar setting of his dark room reminding him he was having a nightmare. Why was is it that when he finally got a lick of sleep he had to have that same dream?

He groaned, sitting up in his bed, staring at his hand that he held out in front of him, and he remembered why 'he' would never like him. Carcino was an awkward and lanky teen with pale skin, that was most likely because he spent all his time on his computer. Some would say his shaggy black hair looked good on him, but to him, it just reminded him of the stark contrast to his precious person. His rust colored eyes landed on his favorite outfit, the rather plain brown coat hiding the checkered shirt and the usual jeans, his goggles resting on the shelf above the outfit, bring a small smile to his face.

Just another stark contrast between him and Loki. Loki, the teen who thought he could be the person who could spread equality to their world, and no matter how crazy Loki may have been, Carcino still followed him loyally, ready to help him when he needed it.

He didn't know what it was about Loki that attracted him, but he knew it existed in their bond with each other. Maybe it was how his beautiful snow white hair shined in the sunlight, or maybe it was how innocent his bright red eyes seemed to be despite how threatening he could look. Or maybe it was just how much fun he could have while doing his speeches, or even how his laughter seemed to echo when he was with his friends.

Of course they had other socially awkward friends, and it wasn't just them thank the gods. There was Lilly, who's real name was Lilith, and no matter how bossy she was, they still stuck by her side. Then there was Gale, who claimed to not be from their realm, but instead from somewhere called 'England'; and he was very intelligent, always messing with random inventions of his in his make-shift lab. And finally there was Evangeline, who claimed to be a princess. Even though they didn't believe her, they did as she ordered to amuse her silly imagination, although technically, she was royalty in a way.

That was their group, made out of low caste ranking teens, or at least, middle class, with one royalty in the group. They weren't that popular, but they survived, and they were at least somewhat content with how some things were.

Carcino sighed, realizing his phone was vibrating on his night stand. Reaching over to grab it, he let out a tired mumble of 'Hello?' as he flipped it open. “Cino! I need you to help me with my computer!” Loki's whining voice filled the phone, a small smile tugging at his lips. “I'll be there in a few minutes, just let me get ready.” Loki didn't even wait for a goodbye before hanging up, causing the other teen to chuckle as he got his familiar outfit and coat on, adjusting his goggles so they were on top of his head, like usual.
