Another head hangs lowly,
Child is slowly taken...
And the violence, caused such silence,
Who are we mistaking?

"Get to the chopper!" Don shouted in his Schwarzenegger voice, causing the others in his voice chat group to burst out laughing. Don turned his in-game character around, and shot his pistol into the undead behind him. A perfect shot. By now, one person, a guy named Matt, was already at their objective: the previously-mentioned chopper. "I'm down!" Shouted Emily from down the street when her health hit 0, and her character was incapacitated. "Matt, get you fat-ass out of hiding and help us, NOW!" Matt sighed, and stepped out of the hovering helicopter for a second, to fire a sniper rifle shot into the giant mutated tank zombie that was mauling Emily. "There, ya happy now?" Don replied, "Very." as he ran up to Emily and helped her up. "Thanks." Emily said as she started running to the helicopter with Don. Soon, they got to the copter, and the level ended. Cheers and victory shouts littered the voice chat. Another level of Left 4 Dead 2 on the hardest difficulty, completed. Don remained silent as his teammates celebrated. "Yo, man, what's up?" Matt asked his friend. "I gotta go, guys. I'll see you tomorrow?" Don said as the rest of the group groaned in annoyance. "C'mon, Don..." Emily said. "You hardly ever play anymore. It's like you don't like us or somethin'." Don replied, "No, it's not that. It's just...something came up and I need to go. Bye." Don left the voice chat and lobby before anyone could say anything else. Don wasn't feeling like playing games today.

He shut down his computer and opened his favorite book. He read about two words before feeling bored and putting it down. He then turned his computer back on and went back to work on his game he was making. Again, he wasn't feeling up to it.

Don was diagnosed with depression since 3rd grade, and video games were his only outlet so far. Until recently, though, he was finding a hard time to motivate himself to do anything. He then opened Google and, for no reason, looked up Zombies. He saw some pictures, obviously, but suddenly, he saw an image of a news channel. Curious, he clicked on the image, and it lead him to a news site. He grew worried about how his search had lead him here, and turned on a video on the webpage. It was some footage shot from a helicopter down at a city that was apparently in ruins. Don wasn't paying any attention to what was being said by the reporter, only noticing the pale, dead skin of the civilians that stumbled around. They seemed aimlessly lost, and their eyes had faded to a gray coloration. Don froze in surprise. How hasn't he heard about this before?

Don replayed the video and listened to the words the reporter was saying this time. "We are flying over the town of Woodsboro, a town that has been completely abandoned for two weeks now, as the government has sealed off all access to this area. As you can see, the damage is catastrophic as civilians that appear dead roam the streets. The government has not named any causes for this catastrophe, other than the fact it was caused by a new strand of virus, that they have named the Z-Virus. People have been warned that anyone who is infected with this virus should be immediately quarantined. While a cure is being made, none are sure as to the progress of said cure-" Don immediately turned off the video. He knew what was coming. He had to prepare.
