Fallin' (Edited version of Can't Help Fallin')

Chapter 1

Sarah is in desperate need of money. Her father was suffering of cancer and she needs the money for his treatment. And in desperate need and in desperate time... She offered herself to a guy in exchange of money. And to top it all, to her own Boss.

But to her dismay, he rejected her.

Worse, he thinks that she was losing her mind.

Who's not gonna think of it. Sarah was an educated woman but proposing something very indecent.

But it's now or Never.

If her boss doesn't like her, then she will offer herself to other.

Gerald stood up from his executive chair and went out of his office. Madilim na sa hallway at wala ng mga empleyado sa building. He glanced down at his watch and surprised to see that it was already nine in the evening. Ganoon ba siya katagal nagisip at hindi na niya namalayan ang oras?

Yes, he's thinking. Thinking about Sarah, his secretary. Hinding-hindi ito mawala sa isip niya.

Si Sarah ay may ilang buwan na niyang sekretarya. She was very efficient in her work. Prim and proper and  always on a business tone whenever she talks with him, though he finds her shy and submissive. There was one time when he accidentally saw and heard her conversation with his other employee's, they were teasing her to Bernie, the company’s architect, and Sarah cannot cover the redness of her face every time they teases her. She was smiling but shyly stopping them, saying that she was not ready to entertain suitor. She had more important things to do than to entertain suitors, that was she had said. And seeing her blushed surprised him. How can a woman at the age of twenty five can blushed like that?

He also thought she was the kind of girl that unable to do bad things or was he wrong about it. Gerald shook his head. All the things that she had said two days ago is still fresh in his mind.

"Are you serious Miss Geronimo?" Gerald asked his secretary in amusedly.

“I’m always serious, Sir." 

Yes, Sarah was always serious. He had never seen her smile at him sa loob ng ilang buwan ng pagtatrabaho nito sa kanya, and he did not know why.

Sarah looked at him straight in the eye and Gerald could see the determination in those beautiful eyes of hers. 

A smile formed on his lips as he leaned back on his executive chair. “And what made you think I’ll accept your offer?”

Mixed emotions crossed Sarah's face and it didn't go unnoticed by Gerald. Her expression changes from nervousness to sadness before it quickly dissapeared. Back is the determined woman awhile ago when she entered his office.

“Then I guess I have to offer myself to someone else.” Sarah adverted her gaze from him and stood up. She took the folder in his desk and held it tightly as if it were her lifeline. 

“I’m sorry for wasting your time, Sir,"  Sarah said in a quiet tone, bago tumalikod upang lumabas ng opisina ng boss but Gerald spoke before she could open the door.

"Kakalimutan ko lahat ng mga sinabi mo, Miss Geronimo. It is better for you to sleep early so your mind would be clear  tomorrow.”

Sarah stiffened, then inhaled to calm her growing anger. Inaakala ba ng boss niya na nababaliw na siya?

"Hindi pa ako nababaliw, Sir, kung iyon ang tinutukoy nyo," Sarah voice out her thoughts. And Gerald didn't miss the anger in her voice.

So, his little secretary has a temper eh, and he finds it amusing.
