Elsa at Hogwarts: The 1st Year

Leaving Arendelle

Scene I- In the Palace drawing room. An eleven year old Elsa is arguing with her father.

Elsa -I don't want to go!!

The King- I'm sorry Elsa, but we've got no choice but to send you. Look what you did to poor Anna. You could have killed your sister!

Elsa- (Angrily.) Well I'm not going. I'm staying right here in Arendelle- with you and Mama.

The King-(Sang in Do you want to build a snowman tune.) Elsa, please?

I know you don't want to,

but do this for my sake.

You'll get to learn to control your spells,

and make potions,

and goodness knows what else.

You'll meet people of your kind-in Hogwarts

It'll be lots of fun.

Can you join Hogwarts?

It doesn't need to be Hogwarts

Elsa, please?

Elsa- Oh, papa, I don't know! What will Anna think? Can she come too? Pretty please...?

The King- No. Anna doesn't have a drop of magic in her- she wouldn't survive.

Elsa- But if Anna came as my personal assistant?

The King- I said no, Elsa.

Elsa starts to cry.

Elsa (Through tears.) Will I ever see you guys again?

The King says nothing.

Elsa- Papa?

The King-I think it would be best if...

Elsa- If what?

The King- If you and Anna never see each other again.

Elsa- What??

The King- It's for your own good. And I'm sure your Mother will agree with me.

Elsa- Nooooooo!! But Anna and me... Me and Anna...We're soulmates. We're inseparable. Papa?

The King- Elsa, please understand?

Elsa- But papa! We were planning to start a girl band...

The King- Elsa, you are a princess. Thirty years from now you'll be running a kingdom not prancing about a stage looking like a fool!

Elsa- Aww, but papa, we were gonna call ourselves The Princesses!

The King - You'll be leaving for Diagon Alley in two days time.

Elsa- So soon?

The King- The quicker you leave, the better.

Scene II-

Two days later. Elsa, the Queen and the King are standing in the palace hallway. The Queen is giving Elsa a lecture.

The Queen- And Elsa, if I've told you once, I've told you a dozen times, please do not sing every minute of the day!!

Elsa- (Exasperated.) Mama! Can you please skip the lecture?

The Queen- No, Elsa, this is incredibly important. Anyway, remember, no talking in slang, it is one of the most unladylike things you can do. And if someone-

The Queen is interrupted by the arrival of Anna.

Anna (A note of panic in her voice.)- Papa- Mama - Where's Elsa going?!! What's happening to her?

The Queen looks stunned.

The Queen- But I thought I locked you in your room!

(To the king.)

Anna isn't supposed to know anything!

(To Anna.)

What did Elsa tell you?

Anna- (Confused.) Nothing. What's happening? what are you keeping me in the dark about?

Elsa- Anna, Papa and Mama are-

The Queen-(Angry) Elsa, do not tell Anna anything, leave it to your Papa!!

The King- Well...

There is an awkward silence.

The King- I know it may be difficult for you to accept it, but...

The Queen- Elsa has been accepted to a boarding school far, far away.

Anna looks upset.

Anna- But who will I build a snowman with?

Suddenly, a thought has occurred to Anna. She perks up.

Anna- Oh, but Mama, I have the most superbly awesome idea ever!! What if...? What if I go to this school with Elsa? That would be totally cool! Please Mama? Please Papa? Pretty, pretty please?

Anna looks up at her father. She stops when she sees his expression.

Anna- It was only a thought...

The King looks at his watch.

The King- My gosh, it's that time already! We need to dash!

The King picks up Elsa's heavy trunk.

The Queen- Say goodbye to each other girls!

Anna rushes to Elsa and envelopes her in a tight hug.

Anna- When will I next see you?

Elsa says nothing.

Anna- Elsa?

Elsa- Anna, I've got to go.

Anna- Elsa! No, please don't go!

The King takes hold of Elsa's hand and she is pushed through the front door.

Anna- Papa, don't do this to me!

The King- I'm sorry, Anna. One day you'll realise that this is all for your own good.

And with that statement, the King slams the palace doors shut, leaving Anna and the Queen alone in the palace.

Anna- Noooo!!!
