Cassandra and Riley McDonough

Okay so this one I did a little bot different than all of my others. I didn't write this one from a certain person's point of view. That's what I'm best at so this one may really suck.... So Cassandra, if you hate it, I'm sorry... But I wanted to do it differently so I did my best with it! <3 Rachel

            “Hi! I’m Riley!” Four year old Riley McDonough said. Cassandra smiled shyly. “I’m Cassandra, but you can call me Cassy” She said quietly. “How old are you?” Riley asked. “Five” Cassy said. “Oh. I’m four” Riley said. “My big brother is six. My baby brother is two” Cassy smiled a little. “Why don’t you talk?” Riley asked. Cassy shrugged. “I like to talk. Talking is fun” Riley said. Cassy laughed. “I can tell” She said. “Do you wanna be friends?” Riley asked. Cassandra smiled. “I’d like that” She said. “Come on then, let’s go swing” Riley said. He held out his hand and hesitantly, Cassandra took it. They went outside and played as much as their little heart’s desired.

10 Years Later

            “Cassy, I can’t do this” Riley said. “Yes you can” Cassandra said. Riley shook his head. “Nope” He said. Cassandra smacked Riley. “Riley Thomas McDonough, get your ass in the school, NOW!” Cassandra cried. “If I survived my first year of high school then you can too” “But you had Connor” Riley said. Cassandra rolled her eyes. “Whatever, suit yourself” She said. She walked into the school and started heading down the sophomore hall. He’s not the same guy I fell in love with… She thought. Riley never used to be nervous about anything. And he talked so much. Now that he still does but I don’t understand what he’s so nervous about…

            Riley and Cassandra and Connor caught up at lunch. “So, how’d the first half of the day go?” Cassandra asked. Riley shrugged. “It was alright” He said. “But you survived” She said. “I guess so” Riley said. What is his problem…? Cassandra thought to herself. She figured it pass once school ended so she shrugged it off and continued to eat her lunch.

2 Years Later

            Here it is… Graduation day. Cassandra thought. “You ready for this?” Connor asked. Cassandra nodded. “I’m pretty sure I am anyways” Connor put her hand on her shoulder. “It’ll be alright” He said. “And about the Riley thing, tell him…” “What Riley thing?” She asked. “Cassy, come on… We all know but Riley. I mean, it’s not too hard to figure out! No offence” Connor said. Cassandra sighed. “I don’t wanna lose him though” She said. “You won’t” Connor said. “If there is one thing I know about my brother, it’s that he would leave his friend of 12 years just because she likes him. So tell him…” Cassandra sighed again. “Alright… I’ll tell him”

            After the graduation Cassandra was talking to Connor and a few other friends. Riley came up behind her and tapped her on the shoulder. Cassandra turned around and Riley planted a kiss right on her lips. She turned and glanced at Connor. “Told you everything would be okay” Connor said. He winked and went to go find someone else to talk to. “Wha-” Cassandra began. Riley kissed her again. “I couldn’t wait to do that any longer” He said. “Twelve years was long enough” He said. Cassandra smiled and Riley took her hand. “I couldn’t agree more” She said.
