Yellowstone National Park: A popular destination for travelers in the US. 3,500 square miles covering mostly Wyoming and parts of Montana and Idaho. It has stunning features: canyons, alpine rivers, lush forests, hot springs, and gushing geysers. It also home to bears, wolves, bison, elk and antelope. Its most popular attraction is Old Faithful, a geyser. But what if its home to something else? Something that is very unexplained. Around the Yellowstone Lake area, people hear noises around the lake. Campers described the sounds  as " metal cables crashing against each other, ethereal organ music, and sounds of ducks in flight." The noise would grow louder which will then rapidly fade away. People in the 19th to 20th century can't describe these bizarre noises, and even today people are still finding an explanation to these noises. These noises begs the question: Is Yellowstone Park haunted? Lets look into the history of Yellowstone.

Yellowstone's history begins 11,000 years ago. Many objects that have been collected tell people the history about the past activities of humans. Objects including such as stone tools and projectile points. Native American tribes have also played a huge part in the history of Yellowstone. Yellowstone Lake was excavated because of its risk of erosion, and the evidence shows that a 9,350 year old camp where several families have spent time near the area. Yellowstone Lake area was mostly used in the summer while hunting bears, deer, bighorn, and rabbits, and with making tools and clothing. However, there have been stories that might lead into evidence that Yellowstone may be haunted. A woman by the name of Mattie Culver, who died during childbirth on March 2, 1889 at the now gone Firehole Hotel that was close to Old Faithful Inn is said to be haunting the geyser basin. Another person by the name of L.R. Piper, who on July 30, 1890, vanished. He was last seen at Fountain Hotel. Or maybe it's Charles Phillips, a ranger at old faithful who accidentally ate water hemlock he mistook for wild parsnip. There have also been fatal deaths that have happened such as falls, geysers, poisonous gas and attacks by bears. Yellowstone is up to 300 deaths, that it may be a hotspot for the haunted. On the other hand, there have been other theories into the mysterious whispers.

Experts claim that the noises might be mild earthquakes with their sounds being magnified in underground cavern with the temperature inversion above the lake affecting the sounds, while another expert says that a horizontally moving whirlpools of air is responsible for the noises, but none of these theories have been concluded. So is Yellowstone Park really haunted? See for yourself:
