*Beatrice's P.O.V.*
My stomach turned as I imagined the future of our world. Yes, our planet was nearing its end, but there is certainly a different way to solve our problems.
I sighed heavily trying to relax. The room was dimly lit, and it felt cold. My pale white hands tingled, and I softly blew warm air into them. I was in my husband's old laboratory. Beakers, test tubes were in and out of their stands, miscellaneous elements of different experiments were scattered about.
I understood none of it.
I strolled up and down the aisles between the tables slowly running my fingers over the cold smooth black tabletops. All of the sweet and beautiful memories that I had of this place flooded into my mind. I smiled softly then shook my head. Those memories were now rotten and despicable.
I jumped a bit hearing a tiny squeak. I slowly looked over to the door. A tall slender man with lightly toned skin and light brown hair slowly strolled in. He was wearing a snow white lab coat, black pants, and black shoes. His voice was soft and deep, but full of confidence.
"Why are you in here, Beatrice? We have an appearance to make today that will save this world." I heard light footsteps come towards me.
His voice was more stern this time. "You're not getting cold feet, are you?"
I exhaled then turned towards my husband. I smiled brightly to cover the mental turmoil that I was facing. "Of course not, Honey. I was just remembering all of the winsome memories we shared in this lab."
He was previously tense, but after he heard me his expression relaxed, and he smiled at me then looked around. "Yes, indeed we had some wonderful times here," He turned back to me, and his voice filled with a very serious tone. "But! We need to focus on the future right now." He placed his hands on my shoulders and looked deep into my eyes. "And if we are going to successfully do that, I need you to not get distracted. Do you understand?"
His eyes were filled with happiness, but there was a tense aura surrounding us as he awaited my answer. While I didn't support what my husband had planned, I knew all the time and effort that he put into it, and as his wife it was my job to support him.
So, I nodded smiling. "I understand, Honey. You have my undivided attention."
He smiled at me. "Then let's go and save our world. Together." He held out his hand. I grabbed his hand, and we walked out of the lab to become the world's needed saviors.
